Mostly for walking the dog in the summer, where we do a lot of field and trail walking, and cross many rivers and streams.

So I wanted something that would not be a problem to get wet, but also dry easily too when walking after being in the river water etc.

Each to their own I guess, and I can see that everyone else is not going to like them, but they are very very comfortable,,so I am happy!

I like these (sorry proper shoe people). But I was always put off boat shoes as they look odd if you wear socks, and my feet get too sweaty if I wear shoes without socks...
H&M sell 'invisible' socks which I wear with my decks - they aren't perfect (they tend to slip off easily inside the shoe) but they are better than smelly shoes or the edges of bright white trainer socks sticking out.

Loake 528 deck shoes from the Herring sale. I know not everyone likes a deck shoe, but they suit me just fine for summer and shorts.
Im really liking these and want to add to my summer options. The problem is that I don't think I would suit an Italian loafer bare ankle look as I'm short and stocky. (5'7" and a 30" inside leg with big thighs). I'm also a bit lardy but usually fit a 34" waist. What other options are there for a late thirties guy to wear with chinos, tailored shorts, weekend shirts, polos or smart plain t shirts? Would I be better suited with a moccasin driving shoe, perhaps in a bold colour like blue or red?

Yep, like those. I am far too old to be rocking them myself, but I like them.

Are your walls artexed?

Also why have you doubled up on two pairs, one to keep, one to wear?

Church's Pembrey. Picked up this evening from Regents St. £300, down to £210 and then £180 when I went to pay.

They will be replacing the boots I posted previously, with the pink trousers etc.

Really happy with them.

Yup.

Spotted them in a shop in Palma in June on my holidays. Decided too expensive at the time but they've been niggling at me since and I caved. Which I am pleased about.

and to Rowley Birkin, I'm 39 if that helps?
