I'm always loathe to pay out for something mundane, my trusty comfortable but boring Rockfort's expired recently so I'm forced to purchase new shoes and these caught my eye - but are these shoes a step too far? (the red on both pairs is darker than they appear in the image)

Interested to hear everyone's thoughts!

Cheers!

These will divide opinion!

I think it depends a lot on what kind of character you are and what clothes you normally wear. They wouldn't look right on a business man in a navy suit much like plain black oxfords wouldn't look right with purple velvet trousers, floral shirt and a pink cravat.

I'd have worn them when younger - it's good to be different, but not in front of the boss.

I managed to pick up some rather fine shoes.

Crockett & Jones Weymouth from their premium "Handgrade" range.

As you can see they are wholecut (uppers made from one piece of leather) and have an oak bark tanned leather sole with hidden stitching. They really do feel high quality.
If anyone's after a brand new and unworn black pair of the G.J. Cleverley version of this shoe ("Alan" from the Bench Made range, made for them by C&J) in an 8 1/2, send me an email via my profile.
Did you mean Alex? Nice shoe. Good luck with the sale

G.J. Cleverley, Alan:

Not the best picture - they're a much more elegant shape in the leather.

Loving Barker shoes right now. They are so slick. These ones in grey are next on my radar:

Are they shoes or soft furnishings?

Ha ha I quite liked them. Thought they would go well with a pair of smart dark denim jeans. The "London look"!

Very nice, I too am loving Barker shoes at the moment, purchased 2 pairs in the last 3 months.

Annoyingly oversized though, should have taken them back and got a size down but too late now (worn)

3 pairs of socks in summer is not the one frown

Agree with you on the sizing. About 1/2 too big for my liking, which is not normal for shoes (Im a 12). Still they do look the nuts!

With both my daughters getting married in the next six months, I was "instructed" by all three women in my life to get myself a decent pair of shoes. So I have.
