There are many styles of brogues. From the different last they are constructed on to the style of brogue pattern - full, half, wingtip etc. takes an educated and trained eye I'll admit.

However, back to your £22 offerings - do show with full spec wink

22 quid,1/10 of a pair of brogues.

Pair AM90s. Was between these and Roshe's. But didn't like the open mesh effect on street shoes.

JD Sports £95 11's

Then recently some Brown Suede Chelsea's from Roland Cartier. But the exact same shoe is in Dune but branded as their own.

House of Frasier £99 (Had to get 10 and squeeze. They didn't do 10.5 so they'll be packed with newspaper for a while. The 11's were way too long!)

Nice, but do the laces open wide enough to put them on quickly? I sometimes find that boots with more than 3 or 4 eyelets can be tricky to get on.

I have a pair of Adidas Hightops. Putting them on was a palaver! So via eBay. "Mr Lacy" elastic laces. £3 or so. And save so much time! They do loads of styles so probably find some that work with whatever shoe you have. Just keep an eye on the length.

Cheers. Russell & Bromley wanted circa £175-185 for something very similar from a couple of more well known designers. (Think one was Paul Smith) Clarks had something similar. but it has "Clarks" emblazed on the top so it wasn't for me.

Yeah, and you only need the first 4 eyelets to be laced to keep them neat too.

Anyone know of some trainers/comfy shoes that don't actually look like trainers? Work have relaxed their dress policy to a degree and I want shot of the awful "smart" shoes I have at the moment

Fitflop do some incredibly comfy shoes that are as comfy as trainers, but aren't too trainery. If you know what I mean.

Check out Anatomic Gel Co. All their shoes and boots are very comfortable and flexible. Chose the "smooth leather" if you want something smarter. Most are of a full grain leather.

I quite like keenfootwear.com for some trainer/hiking type shoes that don't entirely look like hiking boots.

Very comfortable.

Anatomic Gel, Steptronic, Rieker, J Shoes, Loake's Mojave and Sahara, loads of shoes will be as comfy as trainers these days.

I miss-ordered a pair of Seeadler shoe trees and never got round to sending them back.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seeadler-Premium-Shoe-Tree...

They are size 42 (UK 8) and in good nick but no box. If of use to anyone let me know and maybe we can come to an arrangement.

Ta

They are known for being a tight fit so would suit a size 9 wearer.

Not tempted to re-live some of your youth then?! hehe

Everything is so damned serious nowadays. Sometimes I just think "fk it, fk it all!"

What's wrong with owning a silly pair of shoes, bright trousers and a silly car.
Nothing wrong with it at all provided this is your normal place of work :-)

Thoughts on the J Shoes Monarch and Archie?

I have Monarch in Denim Blue, Brown Leather, Brown Suede, stone nubuck/suede (can't tell) and Navy.
Archie is pretty much the same.

I am a fan. biggrin

I just bought a pair of Torre, which has a toe cap and looks a bit more rugged/distressed. They are even more comfy.

My pair of these arrived... how are you planning of keeping them looking this good?

Shoe tree is on its way I was just thinking the cream/polish/etc and by whom.
If you read back a couple of pages I got some good advice.

I've been well and truly abusing them (sorry folks) but thanks to a CT shoe tree and some saphir cream they're still looking great and hopefully will continue to do so

Slightly off topic but do you think these shoes are night club suitable (particularly the ones on the left)? E.g. will the bouncers let me in, normally I just wear boring black brogues to play it safe.

Do nightclubs have a dress code now? Would be more concerned with them getting wrecked.

Does anyone know of a site to get discounted vivo barefoot lifestyle shoes other than their website?
