Just picked up a pair of these in sapphire velvet.
Love 'em!
there's not many men that could get away with that Dom, but in your line of work, maybe!! Love 'em!
I also got some blue suede tassel loafers this Summer!
I have, and let me tell you those shoes were made for him.
In person he is quite aristocratic. Smoking jacket, those slippers and a greyhound at his feet.

Hey guys. Sounds like a few of you know a thing or two about shoes. I'm getting married at the end of this month and have bought a dark blue suit, which will be teamed with a red tie. I need some shoes now but don't really know what to get, except to say I think I want to go brown (tan or darker for instance) and they can't be to pointy or have to much of a heel cos I got big feet and am tall.
Budget...under £200. Any suggestions would be great.

Prepare for a big debate on colour choice. Budget...under £200. Any suggestions would be great.

Brown can work with a Navy suit. Don't go for a pale tan though. As a rule, the shoes shouldn't be much more pale than the trousers. (Tan shoes go with very pale chinos)Budget...under £200. Any suggestions would be great.

If yu want brown, I would go for an oxford cap like the Herring Knightsbridge, just oover budget at £210

...and the Blue one's I picked up today, Barker Grant
I keep looking at those blue ones, wondering if I can get away with them. I have a pair in Cedar Calf and they have been, from day one, the most comfortable shoes I have ever bought. Naturally Barkers don't use that last for any other styles...
This looks like the right place to get some shoe advice!
I'm after a smart casual shoe or boot. I quite like shoes with broguing and a thin soul and light construction.
My feet are a size 13 (can fit in 12.5 depending on the fit), so I tend to have very limited choice in shops and the ones that fit can either look like boats or weigh a tonne, hence the thin soul and light construction requirement and the preference for some detail on the shoe to camouflage the size.
A shoe or boot that laces up quite tight is important too. I made the mistake of buying some desert boots recently and they just flop around on my feet. Manufacturers seem to assume that anyone with size 13 feet has fat feet.
I'm quite open on colour. I try to stay away from black as it hides the detail of the shoe and reminds me of school shoes.
EDIT: Budget is quite open. £100~ would be what I would expect to pay for shoes but I would pay more for quality.
