i had already purchased them, and wasn't asking for help on any purchase at all. Just as well i ignored the response because it was clearly deliberately bhy-snipey and not the type of robust male piss-taking such as the norm for this thread. It was quite obvious to anyone reading that no-one could be so overtly negative about a pair of plain black shoes and there must have been something else going on there. I would have accepted "those are a bit boring" as fair comment however.
Forgive my ignorance. I do not avidly follow this thread so do not know what you are referring to - thanks for the update though. I was merely recalling the "What shoes shall I wear to my wedding" thread that went down so well.

39 pairs is pretty impressive!
Roughly what is the breakdown between formal/casual/trainers, etc ?
Just been upstairs to check..Roughly what is the breakdown between formal/casual/trainers, etc ?
1 x Scott mountain biking shoes
1 x Sparco racing boots
1 x Alpinestars motocross boots (I used to own a quad bike)
1 x Nike golf trainers
4 x Timberland boots
3 x Timberland boat shoes
10 x Trainers
7 x casual shoes
11 x formal shoes
Plus wellies/flip flops etc.
Do I need to check into The Priory?
(*No, 39 pairs is perfectly acceptable )

It is nice that you are pleased with your choices as I am sure every other contributor to this thread is with theirs.
I do not however, feel the necessity to take the piss out of other people's purchases unlike others on this thread. Surely if somebody doesn't like something they just ignore it? I know I certainly wouldn't walk up to a complete stranger and start ridiculing their possessions.

This talk of shoes inspired me to 'bull' a pair of work shoes. It is quite satisfying to spend some time getting a mirror finish with just a tin of Kiwi, a cloth and a bit of water.
Shoe brushes = hateful tools of the devil.
Do you find that the finish is durable or does it crack?Shoe brushes = hateful tools of the devil.
This might be the wrong place to ask, sorry if it is!
A family member has recently had some medical issues that have resulted in him having issues with his feet (sensative, sore, painful when walking)
Could anybody recommend an pair of shoes that are extremely comfortable, my first thoughts were geox as they offer different styles. But there may be other/better alternatives.
Style wise, not trainers or brogues, something smart casual? Price isn't really an issue!
Thanks in advance!

Here are a couple of makers. There is another one like Steptronic whose name escapes me, but they are basically shoes that look fashionable but whose primary aim is to be comfortable.A family member has recently had some medical issues that have resulted in him having issues with his feet (sensative, sore, painful when walking)

They have an excellent returns policy too so you cant go wrong.
My only gripe with them is that they only do full sizes any my perfect fit tends to be a half size. The extra room actually adds to the comfort but I prefer a nice close fit in my formal shoes.

Which of the Saphir products is the right one to keep leather shoes conditioned and supple please?
I have a few of pairs of Sweeney's which I've always polished with the medaille d'or wax but I'm guessing it may be worth using something on them just to keep the leather in good condition vs. just being shiny?

They do look very "long" is the only word I can use.
They look amazingly nice tbh, and if I were in a position to spend that much on shoes I'd have no hesitation in doing so.
Only thing is I'd be sobbing the first scuff or nick in them.
Just try parking your £xx K pride and joy in Tescos car park..... even right over in the dark corner of a Mahoosive car park! Utter s! why oh why do we even care????? S!They look amazingly nice tbh, and if I were in a position to spend that much on shoes I'd have no hesitation in doing so.

New black work shoes. I have had a pair from Charles Tyrwhitt before, so comfortable I bought a casual pair in brown.
I like the look of those CT shoes - was it you that bought those wholecuts too?Do you know if these new ones are from their premium range? I noticed in their catalogues that they have a premuim range (made in UK) and a mid-range set made in spain or somewhere. Any idea who made these?
