Does anyone have any further information on all the possible colour variations and names for all the Adidas trainers dating back to 1986? I would find that facinating.

hehe

I feel slightly sick, but the relief from the very nice but somewhat middle-aged norm is good.
Hope you're feeling better now mate wink Which pair was it that pushed you over the edge?

I'm sure Arsenal could help you with compiling your list of Adidas trainers, FreeLitres. I didn't know you were a fan! biggrin

I don't wear trainers other than for sport, but loved the look of these and needed some comfy winter shoes for my impending ski holiday.

New running shoes - On Cloudflyers. So comfortable. These are my long distance shoes. Cruisers for anything over 10km.

Junkers for trail running - get trashed frequently and needed something with a more durable sole. Do me for a couple of months but need to get something for some trail running half marathons later in the year.

Weekend trainers that aren't adidas. Saucony Jazz.

And some boots

What do people think of Five Fingers trainers?

I think I might go and get some whilst out in Sydney, seem very popular over here.

I will point out that they seem cheap at $100 and I will be using them in the Apartment complex fitness suite mostly... maybe the odd occasional wander round at other times.

Originally developed for extra grip when sailing, now highly rated by some for barefoot running. I want to try some, the theory seems good.

You will look like a complete pillock though.

Not to dispute the effectiveness of these for the intended purpose but;
Were I a fashion concious person, and fashion moved in that particular direction, I would have both feet amputated.

I've had Five Fingers for a few years now. Only really wear them for the gym these days.

Super comfy, once on I just forget they're there. Pretty hard wearing too, I use them for the gym a few times a week, have used for trail running, road running and just out and about, 5 years old and still going strong.

A mate uses them for trail running (seems a bit too hard core for me) and swears by them.

Depends on whether you are in the whole minimalist thing. And to be honest, depends on your build. If you are a bigger guy then a lot of people don't recommend minimalist trainers.

Bigger guy how?

Im 5ft 9-10 and around 90kg, but Im built like a Rugby winger, so whilst ideally I should lose another 15kg of fat and put 10+kg of muscle on I will always be normal height but broader than the average person.

Im an explosive runner and not long distance... but as Im only looking to do cross training and weights in the fitness suite, would it be an issue for me to get use to them?

I was trying to be polite and not say fat wink

I had running in my mind as that is my chosen poison, should be fine for what you are talking about.

Any opinions on Jeffery West? I really can't stand boring shoes, and want a black pair for the office that look a little different

If you're going to wear them in the street or off road, get the KSO Trek or similar. The 'standard' ones have very soft, thin soles and you'll feel every piece of gravel.
I have a few pairs but after the novelty wore off I've worn them rarely. A nice idea which doesn't really work in practice - may be better in a warm climate where socks for warmth aren't required. hehe

NB People snigger and often comment on your monkey feet.

Decent English shoe maker. Styles range from fashion forward pointy shoe and boots to absoolutely outrageous metalic purple neon-punk boots.

Definately more of a statement shoe than a classic shoe for formal occasions/meetings IMO.

I still fancy getting a pair though!

I find laced boots with zips odd, they look strange to me.

I have a pair of pointy(ish) brown shoes that I wear with my blue suit for work and even suit nights out.
