A few years ago I made the strategic decision to start using safety shoes as my dailys (or is it dailies?) They seem to fit my lifestyle much better than any ordinary shoes, as I'm always fixing something, climbing on something, or otherwise getting dirty. I'm not too big on fashion in general, so whatever I buy I usually wear until it breaks to pieces. Such was the case with my Timberland PRO Newingtons that I recently had to retire:
This was a great pair of shoes that lasted over five years and cost about £100. They were swiftly replaced with a set of DeWalt Titaniums, pretty generic design but even more comfortable and rugged. Only thing these lack is the carbon toe cap, making airport security a bit of an issue:
Got them for a bargain price of £55, so it's a good start. We'll see how long they last.

You may not much like fashion, but could you bend a little on this sort of thing?

Something very different and my first non Adidas pair in years, Still not 100% sure on them so may end up moving them on tbh
Diadora Borg Elite's, Kangaroo leather, Limited to 800 pairs worldwide and all individually numbered
I've strayed from the Adidas path in recent times as well. But these are not nice looking. Far too clunky and clumsy, can't see them matching anything other than bell bottom jeans...Diadora Borg Elite's, Kangaroo leather, Limited to 800 pairs worldwide and all individually numbered

Apostasy from the two big Adidas enthusiasts on PH, FreeLitres will love this Wouldn't you just treat the Borg Elite the same way you would a Trimm Trab? They have a few similar features, but having seen neither up close it's possible they're totally different.
lol maybe I didn't sugar coat it enough, but I just can't see any merit in these Diadora! I feel a bit bad, but I have to speak my mind...
Levin - I've always liked the narrower (if I can say that?) Adidas City series to any of the other offerings, I've never gone for Trimm Trabs/Smiths etc since I was at school - although Trimm Stars are becoming ever more appealing...

The airport reference comes from my work that typically includes 50-70% travel. When I do go on holiday, I go somewhere hot and wear sandals. You may not much like fashion, but could you bend a little on this sort of thing?
The Timberlands actually managed to look as good with a business suit as they did with cargo trousers. Now I just keep a pair of black loafers for these special occasions.

These are circa 1984 (Showing my age). They go with Fiorucci jeans or Lois (bottom seam cut off to fray and slots) and a Fila or Sergio Tacchini tennis polo shirt. You need a copy of Streetsounds Electro 3 under your arm as well ....Goaty Bill 2 said:

Not criticising - I bought two pairs of Ted Baker brogues foolishly a few years back, the soles wore out in a few weeks - even worn in rotation. Had to get Richrd at the shoehealer to dainite them. Watch out bro
A few weeks? Do you walk a lot or did they simply wear down very quickly? I don't think I've ever had shoes that lasted only a few weeks. :OAbsolute rubbish in my experience.
All for 'fashion' nothing for comfort or durability.
What would people recommend in similar style but will actually last a few months?
