I wasn't really looking for any shoes last weekend, however, I saw a pair of Clarks Originals desert boots which I liked the look of to wear over summer, under jeans, so having never tried a pair of these, picked them up.
Worn them today for the first time, great pair of boots, comfy out the box, light, reasonably smart (they fill a nice gap for me between trainers and more formal shoes), priced well. Anyone else have a love for these? I'm now looking to pick up a couple more pairs.
I picked up a pair in the tumbled leather a few weeks back for the same reason as you. Halfway house between trainers and shoes for me.Worn them today for the first time, great pair of boots, comfy out the box, light, reasonably smart (they fill a nice gap for me between trainers and more formal shoes), priced well. The sizing was a bit wayward though, not sure whether you've had the same experience?

Sometimes I feel I must have the most odd sized feet going and I can struggle on sizing. I have slightly wider than normal feet and some makes fit better than others, in this case, first wear out today and really only sat behind a desk, they fit OK, size 10. Maybe a 'slight' bit of heel slip, certainly enough that could be removed with a thicker sock.
Clarks sells leather insoles for a fiver. They take the slack out a slightly large shoe.13m said:
It also occurred to me how "cowboy" they appear when compared to boots from other manufacturers.
Haha, you do have to be careful with the last shape on them. Since they been taken over they have just increased the RRP from £295 to £350 as well.
Loake have relaunched the Chatsworth, for Septemeber delivery I think it is, in brown waxy, brown suede and black calf, this time on a Danite sole unit.
Just tried a pair on this morning and they are superb, on the 1880 range so top end, and £205 for the suede and £220 for the leather, they will sell like hot cakes.

My Austin Reed order has arrived with an A4 yellow memo enclosed saying they're not issuing any refunds on returned items as they're now in administration. Customer services have told me to take my unwanted item to my nearest store for an exchange....time to ring up AMEX...
Mine arrived today, jacket doesn't fit. Here's to hoping there is a replacement in Regents Street tomorrow.. I've fancied getting a pair of Superstars for a couple of months now; I've tried them on at different times but never got around to purchasing a pair. Something about the tongue on every pair I had tried left a gaping hole at the side of the shoe. These ones were the exception: they're the Superstar '80s Deluxe, and I came upon a brand new pair at an acceptable price.
Just one problem, and I suspect the Adidas bunch on here would have an answer: anywhere I can get a box for them? I probably won't find a correct box but even a blue Originals one would do the trick, and I could probably replace the label if it really got to me. The leather in these things really is surprisingly nice too.

For obvious reasons I've chosen a non-carpeted room.
No, I don't have elephantiasis in my left knee. It's because my knee is closer than my feet (see Father Ted for a full explanation of the difference between small and far away).
No, those aren't the trousers I'll be wearing with them.
What can possibly go wrong...

Oops, just read your post
As for the tassels, I quite like 'em. I feel many won't though!

Are you an old lady? Those are definitely old lady shoes. If you are actually a bloke then you should put them in a bin or a fire. No, I don't have elephantiasis in my left knee. I will no doubt get a flaming for this however the sockless look is one that I particularly dislike. It comes across as trying too hard to appear laid back and cool; plus the idea of sweating directly into my shoes is not a pleasant one. No, I don't have elephantiasis in my left knee. I can think of no other item of clothing that is so readily omitted (or accepted as being so) from an outfit in the name of style than socks.
