The problem is the trousers are so light as to be almost off-white. Lighter would probably mean white, and I am not Michael Jackson.
Ah I see - you have set yourself a conundrum there then... I still maintain that patterned is the way to go but as for colour/shade it is difficult without seeing the trousers and loafers together.
Maybe think towards the same colour as the jacket/shirt so not as to introduce too many colours?
It may well be that no socks is preferred in this instance though.
I think air force blue socks might look too whacky and if white is going to be on show in the ankle area, it probably needs to be my skin.
How do you suppose a mid blue pocket square and similar colour socks might work?
Do you think we need a new thread?

Maybe we could have a "Show us your pocket square" thread on here...
It exists... sort of.Blown2CV said:

For obvious reasons I've chosen a non-carpeted room.
No, I don't have elephantiasis in my left knee. It's because my knee is closer than my feet (see Father Ted for a full explanation of the difference between small and far away).
No, those aren't the trousers I'll be wearing with them.
What can possibly go wrong...
On the subject of these shoes - they are Grenson by the way - the top of the left backstay cuts into my delicate flesh just a little. No, I don't have elephantiasis in my left knee. I presume a shoe repairer could ease the problem, but is there a home remedy?

Depends how reinforced the back is but I would have thought this would be a good start.

Ah, I've heard of this stuff. I'd be concerned about turning my nice, stiff shoes into a pair of carpet slippers though. I need to visit civilisation tomorrow, so perhaps I will pop into a shoe repairer and see what they have to say... probably, "here, buy a can of this, Sir".https://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk/products/saphir...

Okay, the answer for anyone similarly afflicted is this. Heat the offending area with a hair dryer and give the leather a good thumbing to soften / stretch it. Problem solved.I presume a shoe repairer could ease the problem, but is there a home remedy?
