Morning gents Ive been asked to be a groomsmen for a friends wedding I'm after some advice for wedding shoes to go with the following suit the we are wearing, I'm in boots all the time for work and as such haven't got any good shoes so some pointers would be appreciated ideally I need to try them in shop (London) due to a broken toe that hasn't set right and pushes on the side of boots budget up to £150
Black oxfords would be my choice - preferably with leather soles. This kind of thing:
I got a pair as above from Charles Tyrwhitt. Within budget, decent quality, outlets around London for you to try in person.

What colour shoes is the groom wearing? You and the other groomsmen/ushers should wear the same, otherwise it'll look a mess.schmunk said:

I'm not sure I'd necessarily agree with that. For a start, few people will notice, and if he doesn't have other decent shoes, he'll need to be buying stuff that will offer long-term value and use to him.
At some of the weddings I've seen, the mens' shoes have been very far from the worst style disaster.

However, a sub £100 CT welted shoe is better than something with glued soles.

I've ordered some Loake Fearnleys in Dark Brown;
I looked at getting some black fearnley's but was put off by the brown sole. I suppose you could have them painted or just darken with polish.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
