Er, what's wrong with cowboy boots?
They are only for real men.Ride out!
Though I do like the Comfort Craftsman in Driftwood they've got on sale..........
Steel toe Wolverine workboots. That's what you need

^ Are you the worlds first H.S.E compliant cowboy?
No, not really These are de rigueur in the oil industry though.
I can polish them up and wear them in the office with the default jeans & polo shirt, keep them on when I wander into the workshop and also wear them when I'm out on field locations.
Like this.

Timeless classics, the red Chuck Taylors.
I have to admit, I agree with this. Red, black and white are probably the three most iconic colours - but my favourite is probably the black low-top since the highs have absurdly long laces. Does that change with the Chuck II highs?HD Adam said:
I'm not the Brokeback Mountain type. I just help them out when they are busy

Yeah, I like them, I just want more of an ankle height thing. I dawdled too long over the sendras and they have gone.Steel toe Wolverine workboots. That's what you need
How annoying is trainer squeak? My fave pair of trainers has one it now. And I haven't got a replacement lined up.

Sent my Jeffrey West off for re-soling today... Hope they come back really nice.
Think I'll get a rubber soled pair for winter next year.
Slightly tempted by a pair of JW Habit loafers in blue for the summer.

Almost as new, sole of course and all the inner parts!!
Pic doesn't do them justice. Almost bought those loafers I was looking at before while I was in... There's a sale on in the Leeds store on last year's stock. £265 down to £180 on a lot of stuff.

Had this pair shoes a couple of years now and they are starting to wear through on the heel inner and the sole.
To save me a wasted trip into town. Are these repairable or ready for the bin? Due now or could I wait a while?
Thanks
The sole could be repaired certainly, either resoled or have a topper (thin rubber layer) added. I'm not sure about the inside though, To save me a wasted trip into town. Are these repairable or ready for the bin? Due now or could I wait a while?
Thanks

I've a nice pair of Loake Chesters that need sending back for repair so made an impromptu visit to Crockett & Jones' factory shop this lunch time.
They didn't have a huge selection as I turned up pretty late before they closed at 1230 but the quality is very good. From any distance other than a few inches they all look magnificent although they do have minor marks. Honestly nothing you won't have after a week wearing them or with a bit of coloured polish so the saving is well worth it.
Anyway, here's today' little treat; C&J Hallam in an E fitting. £386 retail. £180 in the factory shop.

I'm going to try to find some nice waxed red laces to finish them off (any suggestions?)

Very nice. I find that C&J tend to be a level above Loake in quality and finish.I'm not sure about red laces. It would cheapen then and make them look like something from Ted Baker or Kurt Geiger.
I would simply patch up the leather colour using some Saphir cream polish then re-lace them with traditional bar lacing.
