Loake Edward freshly resoled by the factory in Kettering

Sadly not the best job - the left shoe was so uncomfy. Felt like there was a stray 50p in the sole somewhere. Persevered for a fortnight thinking I was being Princess and Pea about it, but took them back this week. To their credit, they seemed very surprised and are sorting it urgently despite me saying not to rush biggrin

Surely that wouldn't be a disguise?

Nice shoes. I can see some shoe trees, but have you been using them on the old Church's? They look too creased and curled to me.
Yes, I bought the shoe trees soon after I got the shoes and they've been used constantly over the 15 years. I haven't worn the shoes a huge amount though, re-soled twice in that period. I think they've not liked being kept in dry air-conditioned offices. Years ago I made the mistake of having them re-soled on the high-street in a national chain first time round so now they can't go back to church's (sorry to the poster above looking for feedback on their service, I have no experience sadly).

Not much split toe action on this thread. Glad to see I'm not the only one who wears them.
They are pretty distinctive without being clown's shoes... I've read a few more pages of the thread now and realise I have

so glad I fit in!

I need to get some shoe trees for the new pair. Are the £20 Tyrwhitt ones the go to boring PHer staple?

Adidas Beckenbauer Allround, £29.99 on the M&M Direct website with only 1 size available....mine!

No doubt Arsenal Morris will be along soon to tell me they're hopelessly out of fashion and have some kind of negative street connotation that I know nothing about.

Not tried them (yet), but the Tyrwhitt look an absolute bargain to me.
Shoe trees with a full heel around that price are pretty rare in my experience.

I've found the cheapies off ebay are pretty good: shoe trees. I have a couple pairs of the Tyrwhitt's trees but they're not noticeably any better/worse.

I popped in to have a look at some this morning. They aren't very nicely finished and the guy in the shop couldn't decide which size tree M or L would be good for a size 10 so I made my excuses and vowed to do a little more research.

That doesn't sound good. Based on the logic for sock sizes 10 would be large but I would have hoped for a more incremental sizing system for something that is to be kept in the shoe for long periods of time.

They're very comfortable, ideal for club nights. Although I don't intend to wear them for long periods of time or mountaineering.
You have shapely calves my Lord!

Bought these this morning from my local Asics store.

RRP on the box was £93.00 for the Bugundy pair & £103.00 for the Grey pair - I know that this price is nonsense as they are available on the 'net for around £45.00 per pair.

I paid just £18.00 for the two pair so was well happy with that.
