I need to get some shoe trees for the new pair. Are the £20 Tyrwhitt ones the go to boring PHer staple?
Not tried them (yet), but the Tyrwhitt look an absolute bargain to me.
Shoe trees with a full heel around that price are pretty rare in my experience.
I popped in to have a look at some this morning. They aren't very nicely finished and the guy in the shop couldn't decide which size tree M or L would be good for a size 10 so I made my excuses and vowed to do a little more research.
Out of interest, what was the problem with the finishing? I've not had issues with mine.

Size 10 is L iirc.

There wasn't a smooth action to the springs, meaning there was little confidence they would touch the shoe and the wood was very rough. Also the tyrwhitt plate was held on by wonky pins leaving sharp edges. The Joneses ones were worse, they have a sale on but the prices don't seem very attractive to me. I'm going to try the eBay ones when they are in stock.

That's a surprise, perhaps a bad batch?

CT used to do £10 off vouchers quite regularly so I always used those for shoe trees. Not had a voucher for a while (and I refuse to pay full price). frown

New addition should be arriving tomorrow. I seem to be moving away from my usual choice of casual/classic 'adidas original' type to more sporty pairs in recent months.

Not sure when I'm going to wear these, most likely BBQ or to the footie on a Saturday

What have you gone for? Those sweet, sweet Size? exclusive Dragons or something a bit more modern in style?

Speaking of Adidas trainers, my most recent pickup was the new release of the Gazelle (a resurrection of the 1991 shape). I'm at the point where I'm not sure if there's a style I really fancy at the moment. I'd love a pair of Athen or Trimm Star but they rarely come up for sale and there's no way I'm paying £120+.

You've either had them for ages or found them in the central reservation.

I like your style.

New cycling trainers to attach my new SPD cleats to. Even though I don't off road (hybrid road bike) I went for a more trainer like cycling trainer rather than a road bike shoe as the cleat is recessed in the sole meaning you can walk normally in them.

Very pink but then I want something that draws attention to me when I am out riding.

Anyone have any recommendations for some decent desert boots - normal 'sand' colour ideally, but open to suggestions
