Fascinating this thread, I genuinely wouldn't be seen dead in these, and yet they're £900!
Do you ever post anything you do like/purchase?

There's no value in a thread where people just post the same boring £500 pair of oxfords every day and suck each other off (careful not to get it on the INCREDIBLY STYLISH AND WELL MADE ENGLISH shoes, mind).
It's a dickish post and I apologise. It's the price more than anything that gets me.

Here's a pic of my boring as A holes collection for you to take the piss out off smile

Do you think he vacuumed the whole room or just the bit that would show in the pic?

Dressing gown and pipe still to come?
I like these but just couldn't see myself wearing them without feeling a tt.
I can't see what is wrong with them!

Nice subtle shoes.
I've had these Tods driving loafers before, and whilst I like them, they wear away so quickly and can't be resoled. I do know they're not designed for much actual walking. hehe

They're certainly not something I'd buy but if everyone had the same taste the world would be a boring place.

Are they limited in numbers or handmade to justify the price or just because they're by Louboutin?
Limited to a certain extent, personally I love the design and knowing that I most likely won't meet anyone else wearing a pair is a bonus. Unlike the female Louboutins the men's are generally very comfortable. They aren't the cheapest granted

What are they like for actual driving? I've wondered ever since I saw that video of Senna in an NSX - I assume they're pretty good on that basis, but Senna was a master.

Dunno, I don't buy them for driving. I just like the style and they're comfortable

I like them for driving. Good feel and grip on the pedals. Very light too.

So I need some new smart casual shoes. Mainly for bar/club/dates rather than work.

I've always tended towards leather loafers. With no buckle or excessive details. Had Black and dark brown in the past. But recently got some suede Chelsea boots. (chocolate) Which I like apart from the fact they are about half a size too small.

Open to suggestions. With 2 guides.

NOT Brogues. I just don't like them.
And as I'm size 11, shoes with long pointy fronts (ala Jeffery West) just make me look like I'm wearing clown shoes.

Budget up to maybe £100ish. But with some movement.

Over to you guys.

Also, since you guys have a clue. Anything particular jump to mind to replace some ageing Onitsuka Tigers as everyday trainers? All white Adidas ZXs or Nike FlyKnits?

Ahhh, the traditional 'shoplifter look'. Couldn't get much more council this side of Reebok Classics. In white leather.

All white is very on tread at the moment. Even Reebok classics are making a comeback.

I must be well out of touch. Plain white trainers. £279. That's insane.

Look no. 4, the 1980s racist look, would be particularly apt for may posters here, though.

"Five ways to wear white trainers"?
On your feet. End of page.

I think that site actually takes itself quite seriously...
While it even suggests how to wear white trainers for a wedding.

It's what is bound to happen when you give pretentious early twenties girls with a minor arts degree and a double-barrelled last name access to the internet.

No, I don't think so. eek

The idea is you sign up to the site. Tell them your build/height, your likes/dislikes, brands you like etc. It then allocates you a "designer" and every week it will send you 5 outfits that meet that criteria. You then buy them through the sites links to the other company and they get a referral fee. If you decide after a while you don't like something you can modify the suggestions and the next email will take that into account.

Great. Except that it doesn't actually work. Now I don't think that "Sophie" or whoever is actually thinking about me. But time and time again it suggests a pair of brogues and every time I select "No" to them. The other daft thing is it will make a selection and then have a helpful pic saying "wear it like this" and inevitably that pic isn't the same sodding clothes! laugh

Main problem is that despite being slim, I'm mid 30s so nothing seems to fit with my chosen "look" You should always consider alternatives. But it seem 8 out 10 are nothing that I would wear. And the other 2 are just the same jeans/chinos with shirt and a blazer every week. Which is fine, but hardly does anything I couldn't do myself. The other issue is I prefer to try on clothes first. And most of the stuff just isn't available easily. So you end up buying a Zara or Boss shirt the same as the one they've suggested. (If at all)

As mentioned above though. Some of the prices are ridiculous.

Common Projects trainers £250ish

Or Adidas equivalents £70

People I know would think the former are from ShoeZone! laugh

I think the flooring is the least of the concerns in that pic old chap.
