Actually like the look of these as a summer shoe. What are they?Russell and Bromley Uppercut. But that colour way is discontinued, which is why I got them 50% off in the sale.

I just had to google those.
Then I nearly fell off my chair laughing.
Some people really do have more money (or bigger credit card bills) than they have sense.

Nearly 800 quid for the trainers that look like the 40 quid pensioner shoes in a Daily Mail catalogue!
Can't argue with you about those Berluti trainers at all. Then I nearly fell off my chair laughing.

Unbeknownst to me, I have been wearing the heel of one of my shoes down to the point where It's worn through the rubber and is a few mm into the heel proper. These are cheap import Loakes without a Goodyear welted sole. Is this sort of thing easily repairable by the sort of local cobbler you find in small towns who also dabble in key cutting?
Or do I just wear them into the ground and get properly welted soles in future?
This is 1 of 3 pairs of tan shoes in rotation for daily use. they have worn within a year. so say less than 100 days use from new. Is this unusually quick wear?

Yes. I walk on the outsides and wear them down at a 45 degree angle so I've had them built back up many times. You can see the join but 1) they're not expensive and 2) who's actually looking at your heel?I realise some of the shoe fetishists here probably would be but normal folk are looking at your face. Or in a woman's case your tits.

The heel stack is not directly affected by the construction of the shoe (i.e. cemented or welted) more so the budget of the shoe. All heel stacks will wear with use though better shoes will have layered leather heel stacks which wear less quickly and are replaceable items.
On a side note. You actually wear your shoes? That is a first for this thread surely?
Thanks for all the advice that was given to me for shoes to go with the suit for my mates wedding I ended up with a pair of Loake Drakes as I liked the accent colours and I thought was quite fitting with the wedding being on a greek island. I ended up with a 9 when I normally take a 9.5/10 but the fit is stunning I didn't have time to break them in before I left for the wedding but they didn't rub or pinch whatsoever and I wore them for nearly 12hrs most of which was standing and dancing (badly)

Im the berk on the left with the suit done up

Do we have any fellow big-foots here?
I'm a size 14 normally but sometimes a 15, so obviously struggle to find shoes in the UK a little, all online based mail-order so im always ordering and returning them as different brands fit different.
Off to America next week (Vegas) for the first time since a child, I’ve heard they do bigger sizes over there, do they just stock bigger sizes in the stores on the shelves?
