I didn't at any point say it was inexpensive. I said it isn't THAT expensive compared to other London Hotels - which that image illustrates if you could be bothered to click on it.
Well, dinner for 5 on Sat night with "entertainment" (dancers who you pay £30pp on top of food and drinks!) came at close to £1k, without going crazy on wines.
Wouldn't call that cheap!!!

Like I said, I haven't ever said the Ritz is cheap. I said that it's not disproportionately expensive when compared to other London hotels.

Am I the only one on this thread who

a) agrees with what 13m says
and
b) hasn't been to The Ritz?

I think I may need to address point b) and see what all the fuss is about.

You should, I think you'd like it, based upon what you post here. It's a bit chintzy, but I quite like the cut of their jib.

For similar money I prefer Browns, though.

Recent arrivals here.

They're Barker Pitlochry with Dainite soles, and very comfortable they are too.

Nice.

They look better on than in that snap too, right?

Look decent (though crap photo).

Worth getting a pair of shoe trees?

How long are people getting out of a pair of laces? In a pair of Loakes I have gone through 2 pairs of Loake in the last month or so. Starting to think one of the eyelets have a sharp bit on them so they are wearing through prematurely.

I have shoe trees bought in the last Tyrwhitt sale, but I'd only just taken the shoes off smile

These arrived yesterday thanks to drinking too much on Friday night and going online shopping! Actually do really like them though!
These are fake are they not?
Let's see the pull tab, sole, and inside the shoe please.

I think people have tried to call custard on Petrus before and he comes up with the goods so I doubt he would bother for a pair of trainers.

Normally don't like monk strap shoes at all. These however are quite nice.

Thankfully I doubt I can afford them so no issues with temptation!
