New colourways in the Adidas Milano coming at the end of the month, according to @deadstock_utopia. Anyone else tempted?

At the very least we have a brown shoe we'll agree isn't suitable for wearing with a suit.
I do like the top pair, after a few months of not buying anything I have a feeling October is going to be an expensive month,

1. New Spezial release (GT Manchesters) x 2
2. A pair of Adisuedes off a mate
3. Athen (size re releasing)
4. Maybe the new Gazelle Moscow and St Petersburg they are releasing.

What the like comfort wise? And are they as hardy as they claim they are?

There's a pair I like for general wear but considering a pair for work also if they are decent.

Cheers Tidy, I was determined to go for a classic and timeless shape this time as they are obviously going to stand the test of time. Cleverley's is a wonderful shop and a real step back in time and meeting the people who are going to make your lasts and shoes is a pretty special experience.

I am looking forward to the fitting(s) and particularly seeing the internals of the shoe before the soles are stitched on.

Thanks for your kind words. beer

I want to like those, but they're even harder to pull off than my Nike Cross Mids.

You're definitely into dodgy 80s / early 90s metal band territory with those.

Not a pair of shoes in the strictest sense but they will be in twelve months time. smile

Hi, how much (roughly) does a bespoke pair of shoes cost if you don't mind me asking and also how long do you expect them to last / how often do you expect to wear them, hope these dont sound like stupid questions, I'm just curious about the bespoke process even though I try to avoid wearing shoes at every chance I am given.

quite nice those. I have had a few KGs though and I am not mad keen on the quality, but they sure are good value (on sale!)

Usually somewhere between £2000 and £4000 per pair depending on the maker and the shoes that you choose. Some then offer free refurbishment for the life of the shoes and some would charge you for that. Varies from maker to maker but that is the ballpark.

Cost is around 3x that of my RTW/MTO shoes.

I expect them to last forever to be honest as I have a reasonable rotation now and they won't see much (if any) abuse - plus the cost of resoling is eye watering! I only generally wear my other shoes at weekends and rarely the same pair so I would say each pair get worn roughly once a month so I expect them to last me too. I shall reserve these for more special occasions though for obvious reasons.

The reason for me going bespoke is not so much the fit (my RTW are actually pretty good in that regard) but the workmanship involved in a truly handmade item.

Pretty accurate though Cleverley's do not offer free resoling (alas). Berluti are the only maker I am aware of that offer such a service though I am sure there are many others.

I've had mine for about 10 years now.

Don't wear them every day but they are comfortable enough.

Red Wing must do about 100 different pairs of work boots but I'd suggest you try some on to see what you like.

I have these ones btw.

Excellent, Thanks for the reply, very interesting, I wonder how much more I have to spend for Adidas to do me a bespoke pair haha
