I am revolting. This thread has done that me. I have mostly posted about good'ol brown sensible PH shoes. However the revolution has resulted in my latest purchase being a pair of these...

Nice choice

Thanks arsenalmorris!

Out of interest, if you had no pairs of adidas trainers and could only buy one pair, what kind would you get?

Useful stuff
Thanks a lot for that.

I assume the accetate is to strip off any wax and prepare the leather for a total re-colour?

I think I'll start off subtle and build up to a full colour change. Where to go for the coloured shoe cream and assume no need for the accetone at this stage, or would a quick wipe 'key' the surface?

Shoe shop/cobblers? Look for Cherry Blossom Renovating Polish or Kiwi Select Renovating Polish (was Tuxan), it has pigments that will darken shoes more subtly than full on liquid dye. Just use it instead of shoe polish.

My fav pair I own are the SNS Stockholm but are limited to 390 pairs made and are very hard to get hold of so they would be my first choice

Failing that a more commonly obtained pair and one of the comfiest I own are the Hochelaga from last years Spezial range which are superb in my opinion, I do have both colours but the blue are fantastic

Had a good look at a pair of the Amsterdam's in the size Dublin store, really didn't like the colour!

The Hochelaga's are great!

Took your advice and looked at a pair of Topanag's but really don't like that little toe cap, looked stupid IMO. So leather gazelles it is!

Then save up for the Iniki, what are you guessing the price point will be? my guess is £90

I picked up a pair of these on Saturday:

I applied Renapur conditioner today, and I'll put some clear polish on them tomorrow. Some nice cream polish in light brown is on its way in the post to me now.

They are my nicest pair of shoes, and were a bit of a bargain, too, so I'm pretty chuffed.

Bought some new Boss trainers for knocking about in, not expensive but smart enough. All bases covered with these 3 colours

Like them very much, and not just because they're not Adidas hehe

Probably.

I was taking the piss anyway, I was wearing a pair of brown suede Green Stars when I posted that.

I have a think for brown suede trainers.

very nice and classic those. I think I may copy you! Did you strip the existing polish layer before conditioning?

Was in Amsterdam over the weekend and went to this place:

http://www.reinhardfrans.nl/

They compare very favourably to my Loake, Magnanni and Greve shoes. Their direct sales model also makes the (in my eyes very low) price possible. Bought 2 pairs. Very happy.
That site looks pretty good, and the shoes are very reasonably priced. Pity I don't get to the NL very often these days.

Disco, very nice. Did you buy them online and if so from where as I'd like a pair?

No, I didn't. In hindsight that may make the conditioning a bit redundant, but I doubt it hurts. I am sure the factory stuff is good, so don't mind keeping it to build on.

There are Church's outlets in Cheshire, Bicester and possibly some other places, if you want to save a few (read: many) pounds.

The Sole Supplier indicates the Iniki will be £89, so I don't think you could've guessed much better. I'm also liking the retro design of the Haven (around £65), but it lacks Boost. Other than that, did you try a pair of Topanga on? I rate their comfort above the Gazelle, though neither are uncomfortable.

I know it's a very basic, staple shoe, but do you have a pair of Stan Smith in the collection? White and green is iconic but, depending on where you are in the world, you might be tired of seeing them. wink

Do Adidas have a special 'Skunk works' that produce the special/limited editions you favour AM, or do they come off a regular production line?
