I quite like that shirt, is it a Thomas Pink speshial ?
I have to admit, they are a bit bland, but very comfy.
You should see my R soles
R Soles used to sell some good boots. But when I looked recently it had all gone a bit too cowboy for my liking.I have to admit, they are a bit bland, but very comfy.

Back in the 90s when I was an impoverished student I saw some nice Tony Mora engineers boots in R Soles King's Road shop, but they were £250 or there abouts and I couldn't afford them. It turned out they were selling the same boots in their Brighton store at £90 and I bargained them down to £80. Talk about pricing for your local market!

A few years ago a quality women's boot shop popped up in Nottingham. It turns out the ex store manager of R Soles was behind it. When he closed I have an idea he was heading off to somewhere on a Spanish island to set up a similar operation.

Have I missed the joke?
Just messing - Tan brogues are the staple of the shoe thread. Most people here favour either tan brogues or Adidas skateboarding(?) shoes. I actually had my eye on a pair from (whisper it) Next but these were much nicer and only £15 more so it was a bit of a no-brainer really

Any thoughts on whether I should be cleaning or treating the Loake's prior to wearing or should I just wear them as they are, then just clean as normal?
Personally, I would apply a light coat of Saphir neutral cream polish before wearing them outside to give some basic protection against the rain. Also, for new leather soles, try to wear them in dry conditions for the first few wears outside. Water isn't good for brand new soles.
ETA - Looking back at the pic, I can see they are rubber soles, so ignore the last bit of advice.
