I had it in mind that you were middle-aged, not early 20s.

If you like Levis then "Levis Vintage Clothing" do reproductions of original Levis in the correct denim. There are quite a few interesting denim producers now. Denim being a "thing" on the internet makes the adidas/tan brogue "thing" on here seem like a throwaway thought.
I like Levi but couldn't really indulge in the LVC offerings too often, impressive as they might be. I wouldn't have thought denim's appeal online was as large as the collector base around Adidas or Nike trainers but I could have totally underestimated it.

There is a train of thought with regards to minimising washes, and it's all about fades. Among the real denim aficionados there's a focus on getting high contrast fades; as raw denim will only really fade with wear, every pair ends up unique and high contrast fades are one way to make your own pair really stand out.

APC offers (used to?) a program called 'Butler', where you'd wear and tear a pair of jeans until they were nicely contrasted. They'd then take them back from you in return for a discount on another pair and sell your first pair on to someone who wanted a pair of pre-faded jeans that were still pretty unique.

Here's an example of high contrast fading with 'honeycombing' (the fades around the back of the knees):

Riiiight. Nice one.
They put them in the freezer to kill bacteria.
And try extra hard not to piss down their leg when they are in the pub.
Or drip sauce from the kebab down them, or get muddy from the dog-walk.

I must be getting old because I hear things like that and think WTF? Denim was the original no-nonsense clothing fabric for no-nonsense workers. Those cowboys must be having a good old chuckle at the unwashed hipster trendies.

I think the point is that cowboy jeans looked great as they were worn for long periods in between washes, thus developing a patina that "faded washes" try to reproduce and generally fail.

Before the days of all work clothing being embarrassing plastic-like hi-vis, denim was the default for safety trousers, with woven fibre pads sewn into the front, from ankle to crotch.
These were of course, as one might imagine in camp, rarely if ever washed (i.e. never). They would be practically able to stand on their own when leaned against the wall.
I had to hide them from my mother when I brought them home at the end of a contract or she would wash them. They would look and wear fine for 3-4 months of camp life, but the moment she washed them, they needed replacing. Of course they were three times the price of normal jeans.

Brown brogues anyone?

Are these to go with the raw denim jeans you're musing on? If you buy the jeans 6'' to long you might be able to hide the espadrilles completely.

Where that neckwear is cocerned, I'd rather be a spectator than a participant.

Bad I know but I like the bow tie! I wouldn't wear it but with a straw boater with the same ribbon and a quiet boating blazer could look quite zazzy;)

Edwin ED-55 are the only jeans I ever wear now. Absolute great fit and can regularly pick them up for around £50 a pair. Have you got the rainbow selvage denim ones. Witt the striped trim

The Nudie jeans you refer to, Thin Finn perhaps? I have bought my last 3 pairs from Nudie, fit perfectly.
