Are there any GOOD guides on polishing properly? What do use and how to do it?

I've got 3 nice pairs of black leather shoes and don't know how to care for them properly.

Those are the ones I was looking at

Have you stretched any shoes with those, or were they just keep comfy shoes from shrinking?

Slight stretch in one pair as they were originally tighter but they arnt stretchy ones really as they are springy

Google 'The Shoe Snob' or... go back a few pages where I put links.
A website, a blog with one dedicated to polishing and a couple of youtube videos on the subject.
A lot of people here are highly recommending Sapphire products.

Ex FiL used to be a shoe repairer, he had a machine that could stretch shoes.

I don't leave the office much these days so have cut down on my expensive shoes purchases - still got lots of Jeffrey West from the old days.

I do like a suede boot and these arrived today. Not sure about the leather bit on the back but good colour, good price, £58 and should last the rest of the year.

Don't blame you for not searching. It was fairly recent, but far back enough that I couldn't find it either

Moths hate red cedar. Black ants (the really large ones) however, love the stuff.
Sadly, red cedar is a damned poor material for constructing wardrobes.
On the other hand, a good choice for lining humidors, or roofing your house.
Finally a use for [some of] the contents of potpourri.

Before polishing with a bit of Saphir Renovateur. Applied and left to soak in a bit before brushing off



First round of spit shine. Weather was a bit cloudy at the time



A little bit more shine overnight

There appears to be quite a lot of clover in that lawn.
On the plus side, the wall doesn't look to be in desperate need of re-pointing any time soon.
But engineering bricks?

NOT *new* shoes, but a probelm with some 'old faves' of mine...

- Does anyone have a tip on how to "treat" squeaky shoes? I've a pair of Allen Edmonds loafers, bought about 20 years ago for ~£200. I love the shoes, but the right shoe squeaks annoyingly when I walk! I don't want to bin them as they're in very good condition for their age.

First pair of Loakes/more expensive shoes Was £80-£90 in the sale just before Christmas in Debenhams.

I picked up some leather cream to protect them which I'll rub in before I wear them again, but any advice for looking after them?

I haven't worn shoes in ages as I've been working from home quite a bit. Realised how cosy Skechers make my feet.

Nicely done.

I personally like a good shine on oxfords though for me it only works where there is a toe (such as here) or heel cap so as to provide a focal point as to where the shine starts and stops. Plus, they are normally reinforced right to the end so shouldn't allow any creasing/cracking under normal use.
