No probs.

72 pairs is ambitious! I'm trying to be selective regarding the capacity of the rack. I will not be able to have any empty slots! I made that mistake with my watch storage box. paperbag
Get married, your wife will automatically ensure you won't have any empty slots.

Thanks. Not new, I've had them for over a year now.

LOL! I thought they looked worn in, but I know some new shoes are designed to look like that out of the box.

Picked up some shoes from Tod's last week. They are all EXTREMELY comfortable shoes, unlike a number of brands I won't mention that look very stylish but are crippling to wear for more than 30 minutes. Very impressed.

My new do it all boots. Work, walking, nights out. Apparently uber hardy and a quite rare one piece upper construction.

I had some of those. Found them uncomfortable so sold them on Ebay for an amazingly large sum.

Out of interest, is there a noticeable difference in quality between the Loakes and C&J wth regards to sole, leather, stitching, etc?

My favourite shoes! Are those brown or tan?

I'm trying to decide at the moment whether to get some Wolfs or Bedales.

I'm no leather or shoe expert but there is a discernible difference between the two with the C&Js being of a higher quality as you'd expect for double the price. The leather upper on the C&Js feels more supple and of a higher quality leather in comparison with the Loakes and the boots are double leather soled with storm welt - very comfortable from more or less the first wear. Whereas the Loakes were a little stiff when first breaking in. I also think C&J have nailed (not literally!) their last shapes making the boots look really smart whilst not looking overly heavy like some.

The Loakes are great shoes for the money though, particularly from their UK-made 1880 range and while there is a difference in quality it would be a personal decision whether C&J, Church's, Trickers et al are worth double the outlay. I wear the Loakes more actually as they look great dressed up with chinos or down with jeans and don't worry about them so much in the rain!

Great taste biggrin Mine are the brown ones.

I tried the Bedales but found them a bit large on the foot (they're a G fit). The Wolf are F fit I think, same as the Chesters.

My favourite Loake at the moment is Langdale.

It is using a soft calf leather and on a commando welted rubber sole.

Extremely comfy, a little less clunky than the Edward, Chester etc.

It will also crossover very well for a suit or when you want it to look a bit sharper.

Lots of £'s but pretty hardy if you look after them. Replacing the soles is a bit of a lottery, the only place I've been totally happy with are fifthavenueshoerepairs.com/

I also get a bit of a discount from Tod's through one of our businesses, so if any PHers are looking at goods from there drop me a PM.

I've got two pairs of the RM Williams boots, and wear them every day. Wonderful footwear, I've had them two or three years now and would recommend them to anyone.
