Latest arrival, Adidas Tobacco for the London 2012 Olympics - Only 150 pairs ever made

Brand new in box with tags on

Very nice and while I'm all for buying hard to get editions where exactly did you buy them?

A run of 150 usually means you'll be paying upwards of a few hundred for a pair when they surface which is hardly ever as these are now 2 year old dead stock.

If the seller had more than one pair I'd be very suspicious, if they came via EBay more suspicion, I'm not saying they're fakes but a 2012 limited edition would go for a lot more than the average high street price for that trainer type.

This site is mainly Superstar focused but they have a lot of information on fake Adidas shoes and sellers, worth a read if you don't already use it.

Too many trainers creeping in here, so I'll bring it back to shoes.

I've only recently entered the world of getting better quality shoes with the added premium. Here's my collection so far:

Loake by -robinecs-

So left to right is a Loake L1 for work I got for £120 made in India although the leather seems to be very stiff,

In the middle was my first purchase I found them in the sale section of debenhams for £95 or there abouts down from £160-170 and labelled as Jasper Conran by Loake although from a bit of research they are a design Loake. No place of manufacture however the design Loake version are made in India, they are so comfortable they make trainers redundant.

Loake by -robinecs-

Then finally my most recent purchase from yesterday from the design Loake range again. I knew certain shoes from this range were made in England and these are, strangely though I purchased them from the Clarks outlet store at gunwharf quays, Portsmouth. Having a quick browse of what clarks had to offer these jumped out at me as soon as I picked them up I knew I had to get them but reduced from £160 down to £100 I couldn't really justify it after already spending a lot on clothing and presents so I put them back.

But I had to go back to them they looked nice so I tried them on, only to notice another sales tag - £65!! So that's the brogue collection complete.

Now I feel like I need a pair of Loake 1880 for work to alternate with the L1 as my old RAF Oxfords just look crap, and then I'm after a blue dessert boot I think. Open to suggestions though I'm happy up to £250 for a black work shoe and below £200 for a blue shoe/boot.

Both of them are nice and exactly what I'm after and the price is even better. I'm slightly concerned though, I seem to be building a large shoe collection to compete with females.

Nice start to the collection, but you really need to get some cedar wood shoe trees on those to stop them looking tatty before their time. The trees would keep the shape and reduce creases.

I just ordered some cheapy oxfords from Anatomic Gel Co. I tried on a different model and they were incredibly soft and comfortable so I hope these Oxfords are too. They look quite formal in the photos so I hope they look as good in the flesh.

I'm also eyeing up some Tricker's boots for purchase in the new year.

I'm on the cedar shoe tree issue at the moment found some at a good price. I originally didn't bother as I'd read an article saying no point if your shoes are below x price then I realised but I want my shoes to last and look nice.

I've been using these from ebay: Shoe trees.
Don't think they're pukka cedar but they appear to be doing a good job.

"The item will keep the good shape for yr shores" and

"They will make a distinguished gift for a footwear enthusiast."

I'm almost tempted myself.

Get proper cedar- they smell great and really absorb moisture. The wood should look to have a red hue if real cedar.

Something like this;

I use these exact ones for my decent shoes. I found the more traditional English style trees (as I posted above) will not always fit into the more narrow formal shoe design.
