I'm more curious to know what "grandad jeans" are. confused
Its just someone trying to have a dig and I think they ment dad jeans. I have been called it when I wear Levi 501's confused

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mom_jeans
"A corresponding term, dad jeans, has been coined in popular media to refer to an unflattering, high-waisted and shapeless style of jeans often worn by middle-aged U.S. men. This term has been used occasionally since 2009, when President Barack Obama was depicted as wearing such jeans to a baseball game.[2][3] [4][5] In March 2015, Obama appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the "Mean Tweets" segment, in which he read a Tweet mocking him over the jeans. Jimmy Kimmel comes out, wearing high-waisted jeans, and attempts to defend them.[6]"

Yep. I really like them; they're a decent quality, fit well and look good. Quality is on a par with my Cheaney and Sanders shoes, I think maybe a little better than Loake.
Do Loake make shoes for CT?
I've heard so, yes. Also Cheaney and Church have been mentioned. Not sure how much truth there is though.

Nice find just ordered a pair.

What's the best way to look after these had a cheap pair and after being caught in a heavy shower on a night out seemed pretty wrecked.
I don't think you can completely protect them frown
Or wear galoshes?
I use one of the protective sprays on all my suede footwear. It's a similar product to those used to waterproof tents and car roofs. Not infallible, but definitely helps. Also use a suede brush. Widely available.

Watch this video and tell me of you think "NeverWet" might be the best stuff to protect your shoes from water/stains/

Another TK Maxx find: brown suede chukkas by Loake. Been impressed with the burgundy ones I bought a while back so decided to get these as well as a treat.

I am now the expectant owner of my first Loakes......

Damn! Off to Herrings now as Bicester (Churchs) served up a blank on this trip!

Patch1875 - Nanoprotector is what you need. Really works (I tested a pair of boots under the tap!).

Had my two pairs of Loake Chukkas delivered today. Unfortunately they'll have to go back. frown

The brown ones had a mark on them across the front. Wouldn't come out with a suede brush and it's in quite a prominent position.

The tan ones seem 'worn' at the front. It's just like the image on the website, if you look closely hopefully you'll see what I mean. I assumed they'd just picked a poor example to photograph. rolleyes Probably a manufacturing issue and why they ended up in TK Maxx.

Real shame as the previous ones I bought were great. Hopefully the other members who placed an order will have better luck.

Will let you know - so you went for tan and brown also then?? Personally, I ordered these for a more slobby pair/s so may not be too critical if there are slight imperfections in the toes. Depends though obviously.....

Anybody else received theirs yet?
