When you're showing off the same pair of trainers time and time again, would you at least line up the stripes on the shoes and the box please? Thank you.
At least the boxes look more interesting than a pair of shoes you'd wear to a funeral or job interview tongue out
some of us don't just wear smart shoes for court dates of course.
hehe

The laces should be straight across from eyelet to eyelet in true Britsh gentlemen's style, not criss-crossed in teutonic Stormtrooper style!

I bought a pair of these in the Jones sale for £118 a month or so back. I'd say what a fantastic bargain they are, were it not for the fact that I still haven't worn them!

At the time, the Cheaney shop close to where I work was still selling them at £275.

I doubt you'll find any black Cheaneys at the £100 mark, but the Austin Reed sale sometimes has some good value offers on decent shoes (inc. Cheaney). Check out Herring Shoes too - I've had some good deals from them in the past.
Its all about the Churches - Westbury for me.

Annoyingly my most recent Barker brogues are currently 1-0 up on who is breaking who in, courtesy of the Dainite sole. So, back to leather soles with some Barker Arnold:

And a variation on my usual Clark's casual Montacutes. Comfy and waterproof, it'll never catch on:

Boot laces and usage advice needed please from the shoe wizards here on PH.

I have these J Shoes leather boots, which are actually nice casual boots.

However I hardly ever wear them, as they are the most difficult pair of boots I own, re getting them on and off.

It could be down to the raw leather square style laces, or the suede leather exposed interior.

But they seem to take an age just to get on or off, they are such hard work!

The only way it seems to get them on and or off, is to virtually remove the laces, otherwise they are so hard to get past the ankle, it almost seems too much effort to wear them!

Any advice, would changing the laces to non leather help do we think?

any pointers great fully received, thanks!

must be really annoying when the doors keep falling off your car and people keep chucking buckets of glitter in your face

Close but incorrect!

Get extra long laces and that way you can pull the boot right open without having to completely relace the damn things..... Still need to then wrap them around and double bow. It works tine with several of mine and timberland laces do the job beautifully smile

Ps - no cool kids would be seen dead in those B2CV unless it was a dare? beer

These look great! Personally, I'd change the laces, and they're laced up way too high. wink

I always thought zips in boots were for the "special" kids who couldn't do laces. But having risked a whole £35 on a pair earlier this year, I have to say what a damn useful idea it is!

I also re-laced them since the photo. Ignore the turn-ups okay...

I had laces on my military boots. Best invention ever. Allowed me an extra minute in bed and when in hot climates for extra ventilation if I was sat around I just opened the zip or took them off knowing it would take seconds to undo. In 2 years I tied the laces once.

Visiting London this weekend. Popped into John Lobb whilst in my natty £15 Costco trainers with holes in smile was just after some shoe wax but the service and advice was second none.

One day might own a pair.

I like the style of JL shoes but I couldn't swallow the price TBH. I didn't bother going in to their factory shop during my factory tour as I heard that even their rejects are £400. I spent some time in the new JL store in Paris CDG airport and I had a look at various shoe models. While they looked great, I couldn't feel a considerable improvement in quality from Church's and Crockett & Jones (especially C&J Handgrade).

Graziano and Girling though - now I would be prepared to pay more for the style of their shoes!
