They look really nice! I have a question though, in the listing it says 'Last 125' what does it mean?
There's only 124 pairs left? LordGrover said:
Take a look here: Cheaney lasts.
Thankyou! Very useful! wolfracesonic said:
The Last is the wooden former that gives a shoe its shape. The 125 part was the name given to this particular last to celebrate the firm's 125th anniversary.
Thankyou for educating a shoe newbie!slomax said:
The OH brought home some offcuts of the leathers I've chosen for my next pair.
In a deck shoe. The main colour and laces will be "waxy ruby" and the cuff and insole will be "sky blue".

Having initially cut them out my OH made the executive decision that the sky blue was "too bold" and instead changed it for Royal blue....
They are progressing well and will be ready for the weekend. Heres a shot of them with the upper stitched but no insole/sole on yet. At this stage it is yet to be lasted so only has rough shape.
The laces will be swapped out once lasted and completed.

Started looking at brogues for work due to this thread. Bought two pairs of these: http://www.dunelondon.com/rubeus-heavy-toecap-deta... from Dune and they were shocking quality. The eyelets on my brown pair broke as soon as I tied them up for the first time, and my black ones are already falling apart three months down the line!
I've now 'invested' in a pair of Cheaney Ewans which look lovely, and fell within my £150 budget surprisingly, found an absolute bargain on Jones Bootmaker website, they seem to be at least £200 elsewhere. This is my first foray into 'proper' shoes, thanks to you lot, and very excited!
Looking to spend another £100ish on a black pair of oxfords or derbys, preferably on amazon as I have £90 credit to use, feel free to make suggestions!

Shoe tree is on its way I was just thinking the cream/polish/etc and by whom.
I also have shiny burgundy Oliver Sweenys that need a good polish and assume they will need a clear/neutral one as they change shade, these ones:

Be quick if you have tiny feet as they are less than 1/2 price.

Really nice, arsenalmorris! Looks like they will eventually need a shave if you wear them enough, although I guess that won't be an issue
