Do I want these or not, I cannot decide.
They are a cross between a shoe, trainer and driving shoe.
I saw them in Italy recently and nearly bought them, now a local shop has them at 25% off. They're still £300 though, which is a lot of money if I end up not wearing them.
What is the opinion of the PH shoe collective?
You don't want these. A very dated Prada design. They do some much better designs. Have a look at the Prada outlet at Bicester, they have always got a good selection..They are a cross between a shoe, trainer and driving shoe.

I was wearing a pair of Gucci loafers yesterday actually. Brown ones. I like them and think they are classic; most other people who express an opinion don't like them.

I'll stick this here rather than open a new thread, all the shoe mavens seem to be here: I'm toying with getting some suede Chelsea boots and I'm drawn to some RM Williams; I like the wholecut design and I've read they used to very well made but I've also heard they were taken over by some Humongocorp. and the price seemed to have jumped up. Are they worth the £100.00-£150.00 over something similar from Loake? And what's the consensus on the toe design, chisel or rounded? Pics will be posted if purchased and you might get some Wolfrace towers carpet action too.
Hi, RM Williams boots are still made in Australia although taken over by LVMH I think. They are really well made and can be resoled through the shop in new Bond Street and there is also somewhere in SE London or Kent who offer a service as well. I have a few pairs the oldest of which are around 10 years and on the third soles. The Craftsman chisel toe is the style I have and the ones that you see most in Australia. The prices in the UK have been rising pretty rapidly, I thought they were £295 but see they are now £350. I buy mine when I get back to Australia as there are places that discount them. I've rarely seen them discounted in the UK. There are places that sell online in Australia and will ship to the UK but try a pair on before you order. For me I go up half a size over a UK shoe like Barker. Personally I would struggle to pay £350 but I know someone who has just spent £5k on a pair of shoes so he would think they are a bargain.Bradshaw & Lloyd have recently had some suede Chelsea boots made:

They are closer to the RM Williams shape than they are to the more "refined" offerings from the UK manufacturers. I had a look at some of the pre-production boots in their shop in Hurstpierpoint and they seemed very well made. I'll be getting a pair to replace my now-dead RM's as soon as they do a run of standard leather ones.

In terms of quality, the Prada are very well made. I think (and this is obviously subjective) that you'll find better designs... D

I haven't bought them by the way.
Not new shoes but new shoe laces. They are called Hickies which is a stupid name but I now don't have to tie my laces on my trainers and I think they are a great idea. These are my gym trainers and they do a lot of running. Bought from Amazon for £10, I'm just annoyed that I didn't think of it first

I'm really reluctant to buy Nike these days as I rarely see anything that can be called a proper technical shoe.

I'm not a trainer aficionado but they remind me of my Adidas SL-82s which I had back in the 80s, surprisingly. Bright blue with yellow stripes. God I'm old.Adidas Adi suede from 2008, rumoured to be limited to 300 pairs and anyone in the know will know how hard to obtain and valuable these now are
I'm rather pleased with these boots I picked up yesterday - note the Norton logo!
