Plenty at school etc, the usual rite of passage for most.

I did get involved in a brawl outside a pub a few years back, being very drunk I ended up on my arse and luckily the bouncers intervened before the guy started dancing on my head.

Three times. I'm quite a big chap and tend to attract trouble, luckily I'm quicker with my mouth than with my fists.

Got mugged twice, both by two people. Hammered both of them the first time, got hammered, quite badly, the second.

Best one, and only one I'm actually proud of, was some loud, arrogant fker on the rugby pitch. He bit my ear twice, i warned him the first time, broke his jaw the second. His coach came over and shook my hand telling me it was what he needed.

Yes, even though I don't like to fight sometimes you have to stand up for yourself or you will get pushed around.

I got spat at by a cyclist, I was driving very slowly up a narrow street and a bus had given way to me (sign gave me priority over oncoming traffic) to allow me to come by, the cyclist overtook the bus and spat in my face as he passed.

I turned around and followed him, drove past, got out, he got off his bike and pushed me so I hit him, he hit me, etc.

No one won, we sort of gave up in the end and shouted at eachother for a bit. I tried to explain he was a disgusting and that he has to obey the rules of the road too. he was having none of it.

If I see him ever again I will probably give him another dig just because people like him need reminding that not all people will tolerate his st.

A couple in school and a few since being an adult, none that I'm proud of.

Had more than my fair share. Used to be a bouncer before it was regulated, when I was at University in Leicester. At least 1-2 scraps every night. However, since leaving Uni, again, more than my fair share. My problem is I never back down. Luckily I can handle myself and I've never lost, but the lightbulb switched on for me when my daughter was born. Avoided confrontation so many times. Would rather be called a pu$$y than be knifed or worse.

A few, but as mentioned, the birth of our first child put alot of things into perspective, and tought me responsibility if nothing else.

I did get bashed over the head with a big plastic sauce bottle at a burger van once. It was brown sauce and it went bloody everywhere. As a result I couldn't get a taxi home and had to walk the 4 miles, stinking of molasses. It even went into my ear. Since that day I've been unable to put brown sauce on anything, the memories are too traumatic.....

Been thrown down the road like a bowling ball more times that I care to mention.

Had to deal with a dirty smackhead home invader a few years ago. Very unpleasant, broken hand and a smashed double glazed front window for my troubles.

Police told me the guy was sent to prison a short while after for stabbing someone.

Mugged twice ...

First time I handed over what they wanted, 3 against 1, I wasn't going to win ... Fortunately a Police car came round the corner, they legged it one way, I went the other - when they stopped at some lights I just hopped in, gave the offices the fright of their live I suspect ... Didn't catch them but hey-ho, could've been much worse.

Second time, 'single' bloke, he lost ... Went to give him my wallet, as he looked down, a single punch approximately to his nose. Didn't hang about to see the result.

Contemplated one the other week ... Driving through Buckleberry of all places, when the car ahead knocked off a cyclist (very low speeds .. so no visible harm done). Chav type bloke jumps out and starts laying into the bloke he'd knocked off ...

Was car sharing and my colleague went to get out, I stopped him as I'd noticed that the bloke was 'hitting like a girl' (sorry ladies) ... nothing was connecting so at that point no harm was being done - sorry but I prefer to stay out of these things, he eventually left. Would have stepped in if it looked like the cyclist was going to lose, - colleague reported it.

Sort of once, but as it turns out I'm not very good at it.

Several unfortunately. Usually involves me stepping in when a fight is wrong or gets out of hand, I've never (to my detriment (with scars)) stood by if someone is in danger of a proper hiding.
I have on a couple of occasions stood by when one of my 'mates', starts an issue, and consequently gets a smack. I'm not there as a deterrent/back-up for ttish behaviour, and frankly if they need to feel the consequences of their obnoxious actions, so be it.

I was terrified of conflict at school, so I joined the doormen industry and had dozens of fights over the years, became one of England best...

Sorry, that was a book I've recently read. Just realized.

hehe

Seriously though, I had quite a few fights when I was younger, always because of drink though, never sober. I lost as many as I won, and had some very severe beatings, not always my fault either.

I spent the night in a cell 3 years ago because i thought i was being a good person.

Id been out walking home alone happy chomping on a dirty doner, i saw a fella shouting genrally being very agressive towards a girl. She was shouting asking him to stop and leave her alone (he had her pinned up against a wall). It looked to me like she was being attacked so i asked the girl if she was ok.

It seems the fella didnt take kindly to me asking he walked over shouting at me to f off etc. As he got pretty close he raised his hand as if he was going to smack me so i got one in first well 2 actually. Next thing the girl is now going crazy at me asking why id hit her BF etc. FFS

Anyway it calmed down i carried on my way home but got picked up by a cop car 20min later they had seen the scuffle on cctv.

Spent the night in a cell because i was trying to help someone and do the right thing. Will not be doing it again no matter how much they look like they are being mugged or worse. Not worth the bother.

Always managed to avoid it and now regret it a little.

I actually think it has a negative effect on self confidence now!

Several at school, nothing major, and a few scraps on the rugby pitch, but they weren't really fights. Just a bunch of teenagers getting a bit wound up at the opposition at the time! (Almost) everyone would be having a laugh about it in the clubhouse after the game, except for the few sulky buggers that took it to heart.

I mostly try to avoid fighting. I'm fit and strong enough to defend myself (I think) but I'm definitely not a fighter. As has been said, most gobby types give up if they think you'll actually hit them, whether you will or not.

Been in a few scuffles in bars etc etc, the one major fight i got into was started by me trying to help a mate who i thought was gonna get a slap....

I ended up in hospital and nearly arrested for assault. I hit the guy twice (clearly not hard enough) he whipped his belt off and sent the buckle into my head splitting it open...

Lesson learnt

This.
Could not agree more. Don't want to get in one now too old for that but do kind of regret it not happening when I was younger. Went to plenty of pubs and clubs but never got into any.
