Over £100 for a polo? Are they really worth the money? They look good but was surprised at the price. I supposed if the quality was good I'd consider it, do they last?

I dare say 33 £3 asda polo's would last longer. And you would still have a pound left over!

It's just a bit of cotton at the end of the day, it will certainly be better quality than Primark but £100 on a polo shirt is nuts, you're just paying to wear the name. No wonder he can afford such a great collection of Ferraris

I'd say they are very good quality, but at that price I wouldn't get one. I thought House of Fraser were pushing it with 75. Much more reasonably priced in the states, possibly try buying them online from America and get them shipped?

Not really, I have a few Ralph Lauren Polo shirts and a few next and h&m ones. The quality is exactly the same. I also have a replay polo shirt and the quality of that is shocking, its suddenly become stiff as a board despite being washed exactly the same as the others.

I bought a Hackett polo in 2005, it's been washed countless times but hasn't lost any of its shape or colour.

Oh, and TK Maxx often have 'last year's' branded gear at about 20-30 quid a T-shirt. How the hell a plain T shirt can go out of fashion in a year Im not sure, but its a cheaper way of buying very expensive stuff.

I'm guessing at £100 you are looking at either a bit pony one or one the long sleeve/rugby ones? £75 should get you a normal one but if you're happy spending £100 you could look at Stone Island, CP Company, Armani, Boss etc - there is a good website called Woodhouse that sells these brands at a bit less than RRP and has good sales, too.
You could also take a look at Paul Smith or Lacoste at about £60/£70 a polo. As another poster said, you get what you pay for. I've got Ralph's in my wardrobe that are 10 years old that still look as new, take care when washing and always iron the collar and they'll last a long time although the big pony ones will probably go out of fashion before they lose shape/colour.

For something hand made and very limited in it's run fair enough, but to embroider a logo onto a shirt in the same chinese sweatshop as the primark ones and then ask £100 for it!

I've bought loads of RL polo shirts over the years, they last and fit well, but I think they're taking the piss asking for more than £50. They seem to retail for £75 now! I stock up whenever John Lewis have a sale or I'm in the US.

In reality, while you may not get more than you pay for, it is very easy to get less. I've seen that proved over and over and over again. Price is no guarantee of quality.

Whatever you do don't order stuff from the states because once you've paid local tax, national tax, shipping tax, tax on tax, VAT and import duty it will cost you about the same...
Not disgruntled in any way shape or form...

I buy them from TK Maxx for 45 quid and IMO they are worth every penny. RL stuff is actually the only decent branded stuff I have come across - i buy RL shirts which are really good - keep their shape and colour for ages and iron really well. The same stuff from Katherine Hamnett, Calvin Klein, DKNY etc has been utter and total s te.

In reality, while you may not get more than you pay for, it is very easy to get less. I've seen that proved over and over and over again. Price is no guarantee of quality. The only expensive stuff I've bought that has ever let me down is John Smedley, both jumpers developed rips and tears after one wear and one wash - I don't think you can really go wrong with a cotton piqué polo - usually the collars are the difference in quality as long as they are looked after. My Adidas ones for golf look crap after about a year, none of my others do.

Ralph Lauren stuff may not be worth 100 pounds a polo shirt but I have probably 20 of them from the US. Of all the Polo shirts I have they wear/ hang the best. When I compare to other brands I have such as Nautica, Lacost and so on there is a clear difference. They are definately not the same as cheap shirts as the quality of materials and cut is different and this is why you pay extra. To say they are the same is the equivalent of saying a focus is the same as a Ferrari as they are both made from metal and have 4 wheels It is not about being flash either because my favourite ones are not branded with the normal logo and I bet you wouldn't know they were RL. My calvin Klien which is nearly 20 years old is in perfect condition as well. But it wears a little short on my tall fat frame.
