I was amazed by this. That John Lewis Christmas advert that everyone is raving about - the cartoon one with the bear and the hare - is not made using CGI. It's actually filmed on a DSLR camera.

Making of video
Wonder why they chose to do it that way.
I thought that. It would have taken a lot more time, money and man-power to pull of than CGI but it does offer a different 'look'. It might well have been with the 'making of' video in mind for a bit of extra marketing.
Hm. Maybe. I've heard about the ad but not seen it until now. Damn them and everything that they stand for.
I think it was a shrewd move to be honest, because they 'making of' video will have been planned in from the start. It's part of a social media marketing strategy IMO, because it means people will share the video on forums like this, and give them more exposure. It's particularly effective as advertising because it's not just 'passive' like watching an ad on TV; the fact that it's been shared and we are TALKING ABOUT IT makes it so.

Damn them, damn the marketing company and damn everything that they stand for!

They must have had parking lessons from my next-door neighbours daughter - have had the rear bumper resprayed thanks to her touch parking.

ETA: 500 pages. I expect we will be turning over a new leaf soon.
