Someone mentioned them, thought it was worth bringing back.

i haven't been to the UK in a few years, back back about 5 years ago it was Nike Air Max 95's and Air Max tn's. Have these died off or are they still going strong? Oh yeah, and trackies with the tight ankles.

A chav with lots of money is still a chav (I'm aware not all Bentley owners are chavs, but since the cars started appearing in rap videos and footballers -the chavvy ones- started buying them, its done some serious damage to the brand).

I wear quite a lot of Superdry polo shirts; I didn't realise they were deemed chavvy! They seem to be worn by a fairly broad spectrum of people. Anyway, they fit me well and nothing else about me is chavvy (that I'm aware of!)....I'll survive!

I think there needs to be a differentiation between 'common' and 'chav'.

Common would include Superdry, fk and the like.

Chav is all fake, apart from sporting goods.

The difference between the football casual and the chav is the football casual didn't do fake - if they couldn't buy it, they nicked it.

That brings back memories! When I worked on a stall there, 80s to early 90s, it was all joe bloggs jeans, Nike trainers and white socks. Lonsdale was reserved for boxing clubs and was never worn by a non boxer. Now I see Lonsdale on most fat McDonald eating non workers, is love to get them in a ring smile most chav fashion is a diluted version of the wealthy brands with some type of cheap track suit bottoms. It has to be practical and comfortable to wear all week, not stain to bad and advertise a name/brand. I own Lonsdale, Nike, salamon, Oakley etc but its all old, well used and quiet in its branding. Tap out is a brand that has been abused by stick thin and obese tough muppets that wouldn't know an armbar from a chicken wing!
This is probably because Lonsdale clothes are some of the cheapest available in Sports Direct. Big high street retailers have damaged brands by selling them so cheaply.

I've got a couple of Superdry hoodies purely because of how comfy they are as well as being fairly good quality. Also have a few Hollister Polo's too as they fit me well and i'd like to think i'm not chavvy in the slightest.

I was refused entry to clubs in berlin due to wearing stone island clothing.

They thought I was a hooligan. Now I stick to non offensive gear when abroad these days.
That's why the logo unbuttoned wink

Number of times I had to wait outside a bar while my mate unbuttoned his stone island logo to keep the bouncer happy, just to go and button it back on once inside. FFS. For what it's worth he got called Ned rather than Chav but that was just a regional thing. He preferred to be called a casual too.

I've got a Helly Hensen Jacket... I wear it with my Timberland boots when I'm drinking in less than desirable pubs. Does this make me a chav? Haha

I was wearing some the other day, that said I was sailing a boat at the time (I say sailing, I was really along for ballast as there were strong winds forecast).

Mind you, at one point we passed a gorgeous classic with teak decks, the crew were either barefoot or sporting Dubarry-esque boots, not a deck shoe in sight.....so you might be right.

Dubarry + Shorts + Oakley + Yacht = Dubious (At least iffy knowledge of the col. regs (No shouting "I'm racing doesn't count')).

For me it's less about being chavvy in the economic sense and more about just being vacuous, something that some people with lots of money seem to still be.

Clothing:
Bench
G-Star
MacKenzie
Playboy
Pineapple
Superdry
North Face
fk

Watches:
Gucci
Hugo Boss

Cars:
Anything in white since about 2008

Houses:
McMansions

Decorations:
Christmas tat all over the front of a house

I could go on and on.
