So how much Paul's Boutique clothing do you own? wink
I can't get away with any of the miniskirts, I haven't got the legs for them.

I just adore the handbags though - got one to match each of my suits.

Stone Island is not chav! I am pretty sure your usual chav can not afford a £700+ jacket. I have a lot of the stuff along with CP and lacoste plus others. Dont' get casuals mixed up with Chavs.

Stone Island is the choice of Chelsea hooligans - ergo it IS chav, just expensive.

Problem is like a lot of these brands being mentioned is there are a lot of fake stuff about. My first thoughts admittedly shallow are they're either a football hooligan or its from the market.

That being said there are some nice Stone Island pieces about.

that in its very essence IS chav though.

they spend more on their image than their children, education, and day to day stuff.

remember, when you are a chav you have to SHOW how loaded you are which generally means taking a V8 car to the petrol station and putting in £11 worth of fuel at a time.

Really?? Bench used to be a skateboarding brand!

It pisses me off when chavs ruin decent stuff.
I think people are just naming brands that they don't like rather than chav brands.

To me this screams chav.

I dont know why ben sherman/bench/superdry are mention when to me they make me think of this.

Each to thier own if people don't like them, but chavvy???

A timely thread. I was about to buy a Hollister polo shirt the other day, and my wife said that Hollister is Chavey. I’m not convinced, but I’m also not willing to risk looking like a chav so didn’t bother buying it.

What does PH think, is Hollister a chav brand?
I don't know about chav but I often snigger as people walk by wearing large adverts on their shirts for the country's most prominent supplier of medical stoma products.

I don't know if it's chav but Gio Goi seems to be worn by utter belches.

In the gym Tapout tshirts seem to reduce the ability of the wearer to picking up a (not very heavy) weight, do 3 reps and then sit down for 10 mins to recover.

How many chavs drive v8's!? They generally have halfords bodykit tarted up 1.1 hatchbacks don't they?

Some of the comments in this thread are bizzarre.

So you didn't buy something you liked just because you were worried what others might think.
What a chav!
Yes that’s right. I didn’t buy it as it may make me look like a chav. It’s easy to mock someone for admitting that they care about what other people think, but I refuse to accept that there are many (if any) people out their that genuinely don’t care what others think. I would bet that trainers and jogging pants are quite comfortable, but unsurprisingly I wouldn’t wear them due to the image that this would portray. Would you?
I wouldn't wear trainers and jogging bottoms because I don't like that look, not because others don't.

However, I buy T shirts and work shirts from Primark so if that makes me a chav so be it. I really couldn't give two hoots. My image was shot to pieces years ago and TBH, I quite like it that way.

Are some of these brands not geographically represented now?

For example, I haven't seen anyone local to me wearing Stone Island or Burberry for years, however there are plenty of North Face, Adidas tracksuits and similar.

I agree, and with your previous post. Most of the things classed as chav on PH really aren't remotely.

I'm sure Superdry and Hollister make some nice clothes that aren't so heavily branded (although I have no evidence of it) but I just don't see the point in paying way over the odds for a simple cotton t-shirt that's just a big brand from neckline to waistline and armpit to armpit.

I'm told Hollister stores are completely at odds with what most people would describe as a good clothes shop. They're pitch dark so you can't really see what you're buying, they play music extremely loud so you can't hear yourself think, let alone ask a friend what they think and yet despite this they seem to be able to sell tonnes of over-priced sweatshop clothes.

Not sure we all class 'chav' in the same way, but grown men wearing clothing with any prominent branding often looks tasteless.

I'm guilty of it myself but there you go smile

That CUBE/Superdry store opposite Footlocker in Reading is like that. Had to walk out. I felt very old.
