Isn't anything 'classic' (in the old sense) the very antithesis of that which the chav might find appealing? A brand new Rolex, for example, is a bit chavvy, whereas a battered 30-year old Datejust is pretty cool.
This is just the sort of confirmation I crave every day.

Generally, chavs seem to like to have the label on the outside of their clothes.
There's some truth here.
Unless and until I get rewarded or reimbursed for marketing I prefer no label on display.

Maybe back when they were still Musto&Hyde but Musto became very popular a few years back and were taken on by the casuals in the same vein as Helly Hansen.

musto is rather less taken on board by the casuals than H-H and H-L ...

you don;t see the musto brand on anywhere nears as much 'none technical' stuff as you do HH and HL

Disagree with the 'Bolly' - chavs tend to be able to afford this now and regularly upload several dozen photos of them opening and drinking same on social media

Unfortunately I think the chavs are getting into Belstaff (the new Stone Island) and Barbour, much as it pains me to say so. Does the Evoque convertible mean they've finally overrun LR / RR too? Discuss...

The only Stone Island that chavs can afford is the two badged, fake pisstakes sourced from Turkey/Thailand. The day a chav can afford to but a £750 Ice Matt Reflex jacket is the day I go on the dole...

That happened ages ago. Nothing on the road screams 'chav' quite like a white Range Rover with blacked out windows and a plate fit for the 'crappy registrations' thread.

It's not about affordability. There are many brands that chavs wouldn't be interested in. Patagonia, for example. There's another clothing brand that's never mentioned on PH or in fact anywhere outside of climbing circles that I'm keeping to myself because I love the brand. biggrin

John Deere.

They do quite a nice line in rugby shirts, boots, fleeces and other such casual wear, and I can't quite see chavs (or indeed anyone except farmers and tractor fans) visiting their local Ag Mac to buy said merchandise.
