The cost of the item has nothing to do with it as you can be a chav and loaded. I think it's more down to objects a chav would never buy irrespective of price because of what the object irepresents - you can pick the most obscure posh watch going but if David Beckham is seen wearing one in Hello then suddenly every douche with a few spare Bob wants one, real or fake. Personally I think products designed for the purpose of creatively will never be chavy because it's not an area of life they tend to to appreciate or understand so don't aspire to buy

Patek Philippe - very plain & understated, chavs won't wear them as they don't stand out, likewise rip-offs aren't sold by the lucky-lucky man. Beautiful watches in my opinion

Tom Ford - for the most his fragrances are good, there are a couple I have tried though that smell like my Moglet's litter tray

TVR - seldom see a chaved up one, questionable colour combinations yes

Crystal head vodka.

Quba (although looks a bit 'loud' already so could go the way of Jack Wills)
Dubarry (although anything in the horsey set is risky due to the Katie Price effect)
Reiss
Jigsaw
Belstaff

I noticed someone said Spirit yachts, they're very nice but surely there are people that would regard them as the very epitome of chav. An original (ie. completely rebuilt but for one plank ) Fife or Herreshoff with racing heritage would be immune to such mutterings at the bar.

Hush Puppy is one that comes to mind. If it was called Shouty Killerrottymanterrier no doubt that would not be the case.

Spirit and Fairlie yachts are 'production' boats, thus are branded. An old Fife or Herreshoff is a restoration.

I wouldn't say no to either of them.

No sure about that. I've got a jigsaw and I'm a bit of a scrubber.

OK, I agree with those particular examples which I have not seen before but there are many more less ostentatious examples of PP

If there was a cringe-worthy thread this would feature very high up in it.

It's like a being in a pub where everyone one is trying to outdo each other with there coolness and brand awareness.

Shut up you bunch of prats!
You do know there is a watch forum?

While I own a nice Belstaff leather jacket purchased a few years ago it does seem to becoming the new Stone Island. Not such a fan of the new stuff since they have been overtaken by Labelux.

translation: I can't afford to shop at Belstaff any more. frown

It's nothing like Stone Island. It doesn't have in-your-face branding. The wax and leather jackets are expensive, but high quality. You can object to the fashion stuff, but it is good and mostly quite tasteful.

No not at all they used to make items that had a purpose as well as looking stylish now it's purely fashion. Lots of knitwear and jumpers with a Belstaff logo on the arm and Beckham peddling the tack.

It is no longer a British brand and has sold itself out just like Burberry, Barbour, Oliver Sweeney, Aquascutum etc.
