I love Christmas,
I do not love the 3 months of hype leading up to it that put you out of the mood by mid November and only lets you back in about December 20th.

I was in asda today 2 rows dedicated to christmas sweets and chocolates.
summer wasnt even over before Santa visited the local Asda.
Im just happy im going away on holiday in November so the mood isnt killed out of me totally come december.
I do hit a wall of depression though around boxing day morning when I think all I have to look forward to now is 3 months of cold dark nights. Lets face it the only reason winter is any good is because of christmas.

Hate the commercialism of the whole thing though. This. There's just such a massive build up, it just can't help being an anticlimax (though NYE celebrations are even worse).

Nothing worse than seeing adverts popping up 2 months before christmas. Dont get me started on the DFS sofa sales on christmas day. Am I the only one who makes a list of christmas films and watches them in the build up to christmas day. muppets christmas carol, scrooged, die hard 1 & 2 along with only fools and horses specials and porridge.

I love Christmas, good food and drink, excuse to doing nothing for a few days but watch movies and play board games with the family. I love buying people presents too, can't say I mind receiving them either I also love decorating the tree, the shiny things make me happy. Doesn't bother me about it being mentioned from March, I sure as hell think and look forward to and plan for etc my summer holiday when I book it in January so don't see the difference really. This year my 12 yr old lad has asked for either a record player or a hip flask, neither I am on board with really. Although last year he asked for a coffee machine which he didn't get either so I must be a mean mum.

even scummy houses look better at christmas.
you know the ones that leave there christmas decorations up all year round cause they cant be arsed to take them down again.
least for 1 month a year it looks slighty better, more so if it snows.

On the bright side, it's only 78 days until it's over. And 85 days until the 2nd of January.
