Doubt it due to program scheduling, they have no idea what time he'll get up there if at all wink

I suspect there'll be a 1 hour show about it sooner or later.

I reckon it won't happen today. I assume they are waiting for upper atmosphere wind speeds to drop - which I predict won't happen.

I'm inclined to think the same thing. Hope it does, but suspect it won't.

How do they abort? This may be a daft question but It looks like the capsule is attached to a weather balloon. If this is the case does it have any form of desent control or is it the case when he is up he has to jump? I suppose it must be more advanced than a weather balloon they just go up and pop dont they?

The capsule has it's own parachute system, so I assume they can use this if they need to abort higher up. It's only any use above about 3000 feet so the first few minutes of launch is one of the most dangerous bits.

Believe it or not, it's ground wind causing them the hassle. The material the balloon is made of means they can't launch in anything higher than 6mph.

Ahh ok a chute, I assumed there must be a chute on the capsule just to stop it smashing to earth like a meteor. I just wasn't sure if it would be the sort of system that would be survivable. Like the space capsules, chute and landed on water. I'd guess that would fix alot of the problems from a squishy person point of view with the big jolt on landing.

The weather's quite good, but they are saying that it might get even better so are waiting for that to happen, no other launch time given yet but they still say it will go ahead today.
