Baumgartner broke the records for highest free fall, highest helium man balloon flight, and for the fastest free fall
Highest manned balloon flight is only an unofficial record though isn't it as he'd have needed to land in it to get the official record?I would hazard a guess that these 'records' are purely incidental to someone like Felix.
The important thing is in the 'doing' of the act.
If I'd just lept out of a capsule at 27,000 feet, reached 833 MPH and landed safely I'd be more interested in the experience of whole event (the feelings of unadulterated joy/fear/peace/speed etc.) rather than any numbers.

I see what you're saying, but the point of the whole operation was to see how far he could take it. The important thing is in the 'doing' of the act.

If he didn't break any records, it would have been like VAG spending £x million developing the Veyron, finding that it would only do 185mph and saying "well, it's pretty damn fast you know."
OK, I have already donned my flameproof suit, but I can't honestly say that I would rate this stunt highly on my list of great human achievements.
The altitude & freefall speed numbers are impressive but I don't see that it required a great leap in courage or skill compared to a regular freefall jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet.
