Now there is no forum section for attire, so I can only assume I am transgressing some unwritten PH rule by posting such. However, here we go. I am nearly 35, and the time has come for me to be a bit more grown up with my clothings. I used to get a lot of stuff from ASOS online, however I find their products more and more ridiculous as time goes on; and I feel this is only natural. I want to dress smarter, but not like my Dad. I also want decent stuff and not spend a fortune. Seemingly, this combination of things in a single shop is not easily found for in the UK. Ideally, somewhere super-convient on the web with free delivery and return postage so I can try stuff and send back the unsuitables/poor fits. Ideas please?

How on earth did you manage to reach 35? Do you live alone in a bed-sit and survive on a diet of pizza and porn?

From your profile you live in Cheshire. I googled "Selfridges Manchester" and "Harvey Nichols Manchester". And yes there is one of each.

I'm 34 and I buy my jeans from Asda, T shirts and hoodies from online places like eBay, 8080labs and car shows. Trainers are normally DCs or Osiris and again mostly off the net. For smart/casual I just wear my newest (read less knackered) jeans with a 'sensible' jumper from Asda.

I should add I have been married for 7 years so I'm hardly getting dressed to impress these days.

No ones going to come up to you in the street and suggest a style, you will have to develop your own. It's harder going away from 'young' but not old , as your very much in between. Hard one.

Every bloke needs at least one good suit, preferably hand made for the bloke, but at the least well tailored.

I probably ought to be wearing this kind of thing yet if I did, most people I know would fall about laughing, I suspect.
