Planning a trip to Preston Carboot market tomorrow. Was there a week ago and saw some little beauts. Going to go and check out what gems there are this week.
I know that some of you will be interested and I am going to vlog it so it's like you can be there with me.
I'm going to embrace the tech we currently have and I'm sure some of you will appreciate it.
We may have our differences but we are united by at least two things: Our love of teaspoons and our dislike of the Blib chap
You misunderstand the esteemed Herr Blib. He is a wonderful cheery chap, full of joy and positivity, never happier than happily slapping his lederhosen clad thighs as he quaffs a stein of Hoffmiester.

The downside, of course, is his affinity to third rate teaspoons. Little hope of that changing, sadly.

Doesn't mean we should be beastly towatds the poor chap. Mocking is fair game, of course.

Rate or Reich? Apropos, the words 'Mr User' and 'Preston carboot' hardly cheer up a Monday morning, do they?

I see they've redacted the second half of that video for some reason, the bit where the entire crowd joins in which a rousing rendition of "Tomorrow This Teaspoon Belongs To Me"

Unfortunately the premier of my car boot teaspoon purchase adventures did not go to plan.
However I will be showing off some more of my wide ranging, tasteful, ever growing collection soon.

Good to know you're planning to display your collection. I can't wait to see it. No, really.

I have long worried about the links between organised crime and the spoon cognoscenti.
With power comes respoonsibility, as we all know.
How long have you been hanging on to that one?!
At least a week now.
Separately, I was presenting to some PLC board members today and it seems that their long term business plans were suffering from a lacuna in terms of their teaspoon strategy. Has anyone else noticed a correlation between corporate failure and inadequate cutlery policies? For example, I note the last Enron reports and accounts are noticeable for this omission.

I don't think its coincidence. Often when the business is failing, selling off the cutlery (not just teaspoons) is often one of the first things used for raising capital. This also explains why many large conglomerates steer away from using Kr*pp products due to the often poor residuals realised when chopping them in. Of course, if the business is in cutlery manufacture, they probably try and dispose of something else; since selling cutlery is the business model in the first place!

I think that is a somewhat dated view, the opening and operation of the Shambati Ro megafactory changed things. The world teaspoon manufacturing capacity quintupled overnight, reducing the factory door price by 82.45%

Some diversified, others invested. Krupp employed Herr Blib in a desperate attempt to stay in business, a magnificently inspired decision. An example being the introduction of the Graf Krupp Despot range, the marketing tag 'Use a Despot for your teapot' being particularly inspired.

Well done Herr Blib.

I often wonder if there's a Blib type character in the majority of Europe cities?

Perhaps Krupp can't afford a Blib in every city as judging by some of his previous posts it appears as though Blib is more of a travelling salesman. He probably has an old and somewhat battered old brown suitcase from which to hawk his wares.

I was thinking more a black leather trenchcoat- the sort that approaches you say “wanna look at my wares?”… and you run a mile if you’ve any sense.

No offence.

I've always pictured him as a less successful Goldfinger/Gert Frobe, ever since his aborted attempt to iradiate the world's spoon supply to enhance the value of his own stock of 242b.

I feel that we are, collectively, being rather hard on Herr Blib. We should cut the poor chap a degree of leeway, it isn't easy to maintain the illusion of first rate product, when you know it is in reality dross.

So lets be kind, caring and more tolerant of the foibles of the old chap.thumbup
