Completely missed your tales first time around. Incredible.

Did you ever get around to posting more?

Get on with it fella!!

I replied to a small ad here on PH and ended up living and working as the IT bloke for an oil and gas company in Angola, West Africa but sadly I have no really interesting tales to tell and can't write 1/10th as well as you can anyway.

Next installment please!

Quiet week coming up I hope so will get a couple of tales up soon. Touched on the tale about the chap dying. Turned very interesting that one, all sorts of intrigue and mystery in it. Lots of suspects, high powered lawyers, chiefs of police, days in jail and daring escapes.

Watch this space.

I've travelled and worked all over the world, had a suitable number of adventures, both sober and inebriated, respectable and the other type, but can't seem to get them on paper without sounding like some 16 year old daydreamer trying to write a 'Secret Five Do Africa' type novel. frown

OP - I wish you all the best in your adventures.

I've read all of this thread with a lot of interest and I have to say that I've never felt the desire to up sticks and move to another country, although my brother is very keen to move to Australia soon. Each to their own an all...

We recently moved into our dream family house here in the UK and I'm really looking forward to the future in it. Also, I don't think either my wife or I could leave the UK as we want our daughter (who is almost 2) to have a relationship with our family (i.e. our parents) and we also want to be there for our parents as they get older. Finally we have a lot of friends who we see quite a lot and both my wife and I enjoy our jobs. I love visiting other countries, but I always enjoy coming back to the UK.

Anyway, OP - best of luck, I'm sure you'll have a great time smile

Well, i've gone and done it, finally.

Jacked in my job, renting my house out, sold my cars, sold most of my belongings, sitting in a very empty house waiting for a lift to the airport.

Gave up my job of 27 years and decide i'm going travelling for a while. Don't know how long a 'while' is yet but could be a few years to explore the world.

Going down to new Zealand to join a private yacht thats leaving for New Caledonia, Vanautu, Australia, then up through Indonesia to Thailand, might then go onto Sri Lanka and India.

When the decision was finally made to go - boy it felt good. A massive weight was lifted from my shoulders and after have sat at my desk like a vegtable for the last few years, I suddenly felt alive again.

Thank you Pistonheads and PH'ers for an enjoyable stay, its been fun !!

Regards,

Simon
Good luck, Simon-NO-V8ster!

I followed my dream. yes

After I'd flushed I brushed my teeth (After washing my hands) and had a cuppa.

No biggy smalls.

Thats what we like here, well thought out and deeply emotional content. GTIR, your aspirations in life know no limits. hehe
