Ive had the knife for almost 30 years. I had seen either it or something similar in the Rambo films...so went and bought it. It has certainly stood the test of time, so cant fault it on that. Not the most subtle of knives though

I thought it was one of those Bear Grylls ones where all the survival stuff fits in the handle. Cheers for the post though, very informative

The 'survival' knives with hollow handles tend to be cheap crapIIRC the Gerber Bear Grylls is similar to the Gerber LMF2 pictured in my OP, but it comes in garish grey and orange and says 'Bear Grylls' on it which is a bit off-putting.

I do agree, but this one certainly isnt cheap crap! Plus...you can put a stick in it and turn it into a spear! IIRC the Gerber Bear Grylls is similar to the Gerber LMF2 pictured in my OP, but it comes in garish grey and orange and says 'Bear Grylls' on it which is a bit off-putting.

I was under that impression they might be a bit crappy but I haven't actually seen one, only been told about them by a friend. Apologies if I inadvertently cast negative aspersions on a good knife IIRC the Gerber Bear Grylls is similar to the Gerber LMF2 pictured in my OP, but it comes in garish grey and orange and says 'Bear Grylls' on it which is a bit off-putting.
Here is my contribution, a terrible picture of my Mustad fishing knife and a cheapy pen knife my grandmother bought me for Christmas a couple of years ago
When I was in the Great Britain Shooting Team I was one of the only shooters to use a Walther, most of my team mates used Anschutz, Feinwerkbau or Steyr rifles. As such Walther used to look after me.
At one match they presented me with a little box and instruction not to open it there and then.
When I did open it this was inside:

I've not used it for anything much although it is in my bushcraft kit for future trips for landscape photography in the wild.

I'm very much liking the Boker, I'd love an Orca Gen2 but they are pretty pricey.
I had a Sinclair CardShap but I was pretty dissapointed with it...its just too flimsy for the money they charge.
My oldest knife is a Buck Buckmaster 184, which I was pleased to see still fetch £100 or so. Early ones are closer to £500:

This are my most recent, Becker BK2 and BK3:
