This isn't a dating story, so apologies if it isn't quite what the thread demands...

But I went out with a few mates for Christmas drinks recently, and there were a few people in the party that I hadn't met before.

There was one couple in particular, of whom the bloke was interesting because he loved his cars. His girlfriend however, was one of those women who was absolutely, classically the epitome of beautiful...she was in my 'quickly-formed' opinion, just captivating in every way, and gave you her full attention when talking, kinda making you feel like you were the most important person in the room? I think I fell in love with her between minutes 10 and 15 biggrin

I also had this slight 'Deja Vu' thing going on....anyway after the pub, we all went for a curry, and as I chatted to her more, it was all getting like 'I'd known her for ages' kinda thing? But anyway, I didn't make a dick of myself - I was just happy to chat to a very beautiful, interesting lady for a while whilst I was out...

Anyway, two weeks later, I've just found out she's an actress who's been in one or two fairly prominent films, and lots of bit parts on TV. One of her latest films saw her having several scenes with Edward Norton in fact yikes

So I guess as an actress, she was also well-versed in conversing with people - which explains how I instantly felt so at ease and comfortable.

Anyway, was nice to spend time talking to a woman so gracious, lovely and interesting. She must rub shoulders with people far more elevated than me - but I felt like I was given the same level of attention and chat as anyone - which has made me happy this Christmas at least!

I got set up with Kim Wilde's sister by Kim Wilde's mum.

She didn't like me much, so that would be a no.
From a curios point of view, what was Kims' sisters name and real surname? The chap I was best man to was a couple of years above the young lady you claim to have dated and knows all the gory details... wink

Who was it? I'm sure there is no valid reason not to say " i met ............" and she was very nice.

Hey 37Flipper - Just caught up with the thread. Wow, what an inspirational woman you have married!

People like your wife that go forth and raise disability awareness are the real celebreties in this life, not those idiots that have plastic surgery to alter their nose, wear designer crap and waltz up and down a red carpet at film premieres.

HNY beer I bet you are a very proud man - I would be!

Ten seconds on Wikipedia will tell you that her sisters name is Roxanne and their surname is Smith, it's not exactly secret.

Whereami has whooshed that one onto the bonfire of custard, but for your peace of mind, I'll give you the dirty lowdown. We spent a Christmas day around 2000 ish in the pub which is something we wouldn't usually do. My brother is mates with the guy who owned it & it was in effect a private party in the boozer.

Marty Wilde was there with his missus, Ricky & Roxanne. Mrs. Wilde got pissed, we all got talking & she said I'd go lovely with Roxanne. Roxanne didn't agree, we had a stilted conversation for five minutes & I came away from the encounter with a consolation pint of Guinness & a mince pie, hence why I said it was a no. Some you win, some you lose as the kids in America might say. For the record, Kim Wilde wasn't there & further for the record, Marty Wilde does wear a wig.

I worked with Claudia Schiffer for a while, although she was short and grumpy, so it might NOT have been THAT one smile

About 30 years ago I used to go out with this lady, back then she was really hot...

You'll have to give us a clue?

Who is it, Sylvester Stallone?
Clue !! 007
George Lazenby?
If he smiles do you see a load of silver teeth?
Good grief you guys are useless. Anyway when I was going out with her it was her dad that was famous, he was called Cubby Broccoli, she is Barbara Broccoli, the current producer of the James Bond movies. I did not realise who she was until that first night in her apartment when I saw a pic of her sitting on Sean Connery’s knee

She was on tv last night on the sky bond movie channel

My friend Jess used to date Jonathan Ross's daughter, Betty. Jess used to get picked up by Jonathan and taken to their house for family lunches etc, she said it was very cool, and he's awesomely funny in real life. They used to play tennis together, I thought it was pretty cool...

I went through a period of regular encounters with someone who has been on the TV recently and who has been discussed on here in the past.

A lad I used to knock about with as a kid who was the drummer for a moderately successful band claims to have spent nights with Kelly Osbourne and I don't see any reason as to why he would lie, or if he was going to lie, why he wouldn't make it someone a bit fitter!
