Sell your bike tomorrow. Spend the money on good legal advice/representation - both for the divorce and for the contact order hearing.

I know it means a lot to you but there'll be other bikes; if you don't get the right outcome in the divorce settlement/contact order hearing, the concequences will be life long.

Iwouldnt want my worst enemy to go through what you've been through and I wish you well with all my heart.

Could we PHers set up a 'fighting fund'?

I'm skint but am good for £20 or so.

I've been following this thread and can't believe just how low some people can go. I'm also appalled at the lack of support that you've received from the benefits system which was set up for people like you.

I would happily put in £20 if it could in any way help.

Count me in for £20 as well., if it helps. Seems like the system is loaded against you on this one which I find shocking.

Anyone know of a cost-effective way to set up a donation site? I hear good things about Virgin Money, but you must be a registered UK charity, plus there's a set-up fee of £100... frown

I'm in for £20. Is there anyone that lives close to or knows skyline personally on here?

I'd imagine they can set up a bank account or a PayPal account in his name for use for legal stuff.

Every time I see an update I hope for proper happy news and feel so sad when I read the struggle you continue to face so that you can see your son, something that you shouldn't have to battle for.

Never ever give up fighting, you will come through in the end.

I agree with other comments , hard as it is sell your bike, use the money for your fight.

I really don't have any spare money to my name but I will happily find a few quid to help you get the best you can. Have you tried Citizens Advice Bureau?

and yes, emotional/mental abuse absolutely does count as domestic violence; DV covers all forms of abuse from current or former partners or family members.

Guys your support and generosity is overwhelming, really is. Your all like a little family for me and whenever something happens, my first thought turns to PH smile

With regards to donations, Thank you so much but as I've said before, I'd rather the money go to a good charity like cancer research, orphaned children etc i always feel there's someone worse off than me that could do with the help and support.

I have my family who have been amazing in the love, support they have given me. The bike is the last of my worries and I've had a few bikes in my time so selling it isn't an issue and quite rightly, I can always buy one once this is all over,

I've been at my mates house this evening and he has recommended a friend of his who is a solicitor, who support legal aid and is going to see if he can get me going with them. That's 3 potential solicitors that haven't said no to me yet, so I'm just praying one of them comes good!

The hearing for the contact order (directions) is in Early August. My Mckenzie friend again has been amazing and prepared me well with what to do. I have a position statement to do and am noting down everything that's happening. We are due to go over everything prior to the hearing and he is going to have a chat with her prior to the hearing and said to me that he will tear her a new one if she doesn't play ball!! laugh

The Divorce hearing is in early September and I'm going to make sure I have a solicitor in place, that's my priority now.im just curious, on the petition it says the hearing is for 15 minutes, why so short?

On a happier note, I think I may have mentioned about playing Airsoft? Well I've been playing since May and joined a local club. It's been really good for letting me get out in the fresh air and although I can't run, just to help my legs gain movement from months of sitting & lying in bed. I've had equipment kindly donated and given to me by some amazing people and for those few hours on a Sunday lurking around a wood, dressed as a Navy Seal, has taken my mind away from the drama, stress and obnoxiousness of the Mental. It's a great release from the anger that just builds and builds from the constant crap that she's been throwing at me.

I'd be in for a twenty too, no worries. This women is disgusting.

OP, do you have a close friend that can help you out with a paypal account? It may be best that any money isn't linked directly to you.

The bit that worries me the most is the financial order she has filed and especially against the house that I put all my money into and even to this day, my blood, sweat and tears maintaining it and keeping up with all payments in due regard. It's the only thing I have left and my future plans were to one day give it to my son. She's going to make a complete mess of this.
She's also filing for costs and maintenance payments even though she gets her child support allowance which is deducted from my benefits.
Sorry to sound like a doom monger, but you are married, and legally, until you are divorced that means EVERYTHING you own is jointly owned by her. House, motorbike, cash in your pocket it's all half hers. Actually, if you end up fighting legally over it all, it'll be more like 1/3 yours, 1/3 hers, and 1/3 to the solicitors.

Even worse, because she has sole custody of your son, she is likely to get more than half of it all, especially the house. Don't put effort/money in trying to fight for more than half, as it'll be a non starter. Try to include in the divorce negotiations, all the savings she 'stole' from you when she cleared out the savings accounts - that was all half yours. She will likely argue that it was all spent on your son, and used as some sort of maintenance payment.

Brace yourself and have a read of some of the divorce threads on these very forums. Take it with a pinch of salt, as you're only reading one side of the story, but it will give you an idea of what can and does happen in divorce settlements. frown

Concentrate your efforts on getting access to your son, that will be more rewarding and

I did this a few years ago for a ph'er who was in a bad way, a paypal site is the easiest way probably. Count Vmax200 in for £20 also

PH is a 'family', and we look after our own. Please accept the help that's offered. I don't give a toss what you spend it on - toys for the boy, take-aways, coke and wes... You shouldn't have to sell your bike.

Post up in biker banter, there may be a few PHers that would go for a ride with you/meet at the ace for a chat/whatever. If you're up for it, obviously.

OP, I know you shouldn't "HAVE" to sell your bike and I'll stand my corner for £20 with absolute pleasure but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD sell everything that isn't bolted down to get the best possible legal advice you can for the contact hearing and for the divorce!

I'd be in for £20, and if it saves your bike, it could be left at mine (sign it over to someone else, Dad etc.) Im near Marlow, possibly not too far away.
