Middx. Contact one of the Mods.

They should be able to give you a transcript of this thread. So that in a few years time the son can read through about what his dad went through.

Stay strong and I hope the family get access soon.

What an awful story.

Out the grasping, sadistic woman. She should not be in charge of the upbringing of a child - but there's nothing you can do about that, sadly. So make sure the world knows what she did.

A sad day. frown

Last I'd heard from Sam he said he was paralysed and had difficulty sitting up. Yet his fight and spirit were clearly undimmed.

If there were anyone I'd believe would walk out of a hospice, it would have been him! Sadly not to be.

Thanks to the generosity of PHers, there was £130 remaining in Sam's 'fighting fund', over and above his legal representative's expenses. I have donated this to the Meadow House Hospice, at the request of his family.

RIP chap.

Sorry for your loss middx. I'm not going to slag off your nephew's mother (her actions will be doing that), but I hope that your nephew gets to see your family regularly & doesn't grow up thinking badly of Sam.

So sorry to hear this. Was thinking of what to write but mjb1 summed it up perfectly.

Tragic ending to a heartbreaking thread.
This thread really showed me how lucky I am with my little family and that not everyone gets that chance. We all take things for granted, and sometimes need to step back and appreciate what we really have in our grasp.

RIP Sam. I shall raise a glass to you tonight.

FcensoredK.

I was really hoping for some good news when I saw this thread come back to life.

Such a immense shame.

Overwhelming number of responses, thank you everyone. Sam was dragged through the courts by his ex wife, and had to sit through cafcas interviews whilst he was given the verdict of pallative care only, and this is what ultimately had taken its toll on his health and fate. He never gave up even when paralysed, and was always thinking positive thoughts whilst bed ridden, because he drew that strength from his love for his son.

RIP - This is my first time reading this thread and I sat and read it from start to finish, people are now asking me why I look upset - His personality and fighting spirit shines through and the world is a worse place without him... Hope things improve with regards to the family.

RIP Sam. He definitely was a fighter!

Someone mentioned obtaining a transcript of this thread for his son to read at a later date. middx,if you do go down that route I'd suggest getting a transcript of Sam's original thread too which was deleted at his request because he thought it could compromise his custody and divorce battle because of the level of detail he went into. That thread was a tough read though - it really was heartbreaking even for someone who did not know the man personally.

Condolences to you and your family!!

I'm not familiar with this website, could someone point me to how I can get this full transcript?

So sorry to hear Sam has passed away. I've checked daily for the last couple of months for any update and very sad to read he lost his fight.

Fight all the way to see your nephew (and for your parents to see him also), what does the boys mother think will be achieved by denying him seeing his family?
