Just bought the lad a NERF Rough Cut (8 shot spring pump action dart gun) for his birthday and have to say I'm impressed, as Argos have a 20% off sale at the moment I may have to go and get myself one (or something similar) and of course some pollycarb safety glasses for everyone in the house (oh and a load more ammo).

Anyone else NERF'd?

My 8yo cousin has a dozen of these, varying sizes and capacities, when we were there for Christmas, we had a mass family NERF war, from a 73 year old, to the aforementioned 8 year old, its masses of fun. Don't just have one. Seriously.

My nephews got two nerf guns for christmas, I think me and my brother had more fun attacking each other at every possible opportunity.

my girls enjoy a good fire fight when the weather permits. I always get the fully auto nerf gun. I'm chunky and not quick so it helps

Bought my 12 year old a Nerf Retaliator for Christmas, he then bought himself a Stockade with his vouchers in the sales.

They are great fun, either as a target range, or shooting each other.

You'll be doomed now, my 2 boys have built a collection of nerf guns since I brought them their first ones and its like an episode of the Pink Panther movies most nights in my house with one of them jumping out behind sofas or wardrobes trying to shoot me.... GREAT fun....

Quite often the lounge on a saturday is littered with a variety of Nerf darts.

Have the pistol (youngest likes that), the Maverick, another older rotating shooter and my oldest got a rifle style model last year.

Personal favourite isn't a nerf. Picked up a double barrelled shotgun unit. As you crack it open to load (with a cartridge and shot - separate items), that arms the device. The trigger is a two stage affair, so it genuinely does two separate shots.

Pretty darned accurate.

And they are all huge, huge, huge fun.

(still have a hankering for my old waterpistol, could knock over a small child. The recoil could also knock over a small child)

My lad (9) has about 8 of the bloody things. I must say they are very cool though, especially the ones with red dot sights.

He had one of the new Vortex models for christmas (the ones that fire discs rather than darts) and it is battery operated.

I'm very impressed with it, good range and accuracy, and I can often be found stalking him around the house... smile

The darts/discs do seem to end up everywhere though.

Isn't that a good thing that way you don't run out of ammo?

I have a Nerf pump action shotgun type dooberry somewhere in the loft. Great fun, I only bought it because I wanted to ps off the then-missus.

My favourite moment was spotting a fly resting on the wall and somehow smushing it with a Nerf dart thing.

Would love to make mine a little stronger as it tends to not be as effective across my living room. Tips well appreciated!

I've 11 now and more than a hundred of the foamy ammo smile, I'm 29

Have to say the belt fed one with the tripod is my favorite, I've taken to taking a few of them apart to see if I can make them more powerful,

fair bit of info on the net, which is good because It shows i'm not the only manchild about

I remember big Super Soaker battles in the summer when I was a kid, great fun.

I'm going to try and resist even looking at them online.

I often have a Nerf fight with my son when I get home from work, he has 2 Mavericks and 2 of the pistols. They're also great fun when his little friends come to play.
