FFS, I heard that when I was in school, now I'm a great grandfather!!
I knew it was old, we would be pushed to muster a platoon now biggrinsmile
We manage to get a few more than a platoon together still, although the ranks are thinning! See www.hadriansoldboys.co.uk

This is not a joke.
It's just a nod to the Iron Lady.
If you ignore her politics for a moment (whether you agree with them or not) you have to admit she was awesome.

The first lady prime minister .. Once quoted as saying that there would never be a female prime minister in her lifetime.
And she was there for 11 years.

Actually enjoyed politicians making personal attacks on her as 'it meant they had run out of political arguments'.

Never did a political U turn and stuck to her guns everytime. (except the poll tax).

When some advisors told her to let go of the Falklands she basically told them to f-off.
She said pretty much the same to the IRA.

As far as I know, was never implicated in sleaz or curruption.

When her son was lost in the desert and the army helped find him, she paid for it herself so the tax payer didn't have to.

I know I'll get some flak for this.
But I don't care.
When I was a kid she ran the country, and she never backed down.
I liked that in a leader. smile

She certainly had more balls than the spineless mob we have in office now. Politicians should be strong and single minded. Not sway with every breeze. A sad loss, but a fantastic innings.

Well said! She was a Superstar in politics and deserves our respect and thanks. Maggie may not be everyones cup of tea, but she sure made politics interesting in the 80's, no namby pamby bks just hard hitting issues dealt with properly!
