Unlucky, but not unreasonably to expect over a large enough sample size of playing hands. He's got ~25% in each hand, meaning the chances of you losing both are around 6%. Or, put another way, roughly the same as someone hitting a runner-runner flush (I think? Someone more experienced correct me if I'm wrong!).

I once had AA 3 times in the space of 4 hands spread across 2 tables playing about 50NL zoom, I think. All in pre- each time, against KK each time, and lost each time. I was rather cheesed off.

Got 42nd last night in the Pokerstars $3 rebuy $20k guaranteed from 4,500 runners. Really annoyed. In the last few weeks/months I've finished 20th-180th in about half a dozen big fields like that and pocketed 10-15x my buy-in when there was several k up top each time, sometimes well into five figures.

I just seem to not adapt well enough to late stage tournies, particularly the switch in aggression between 10 and 20 BB effective stacks. Any of the seasoned players on here got some advice for such stages?

Personally, I've been a bit hammered lately. When I run I do it really well, but when it stops I struggle. It's not like I'm not tight enough, it's just a case of a million hands going the wrong way. I've lost count of how many times I've flopped a fairly strong hand, my opponents sitting on thin air yet refusing to back down and suddenly nailing a straight on the river in the last two days alone. How do you all handle it? Just not play anything or play and become a checking machine or calling station unless you're sitting on the nuts?

If you have read any of my previous posts you will know that I was playing many hours of poker. Some high stakes, many medium stakes and 10's of thousands of low stakes.

I came 1st a few years ago in a free entry birthday tournament £350

This recovered some of my losses and i continued to play just for fun on the micro tables.

It wasn't long before before I was another £30 down 20c 50c games do add up but to be honest i really had 100's and 100's of hours of fun at some times, other times of pure shock that what i had just seen just couldn't happen. But still overall it was a very cheap hobby keeping to the micro tables.

I Cashed in a total sum of £340 which left me £1.58 in my account + 620 accumulated points left after cashing the main balance. I had not logged in for many months because in my opinion it is rigged paperbag

I have not come to this conclusion because I lost or because I'm a bitter bad looser, but simply because of my 1000's of hours of play over a five year period and logging many of the stats that I had witnessed.

Anyway.... I logged in just over a week ago and started to play a few of the 25point,50 point tournaments to use up the 600 odd points I still have. Well after taking a break things just have not changed. I am still receiving a suited hand 75% of the time,I have been dealt 8 suited hands in a row and seeing 5 in a row is far from uncommon. And guess what? On flop they are always (OK not 100%) but either another 3 of a different suit or none of mine, turn comes nope, and river occasionally I might see a matched suit.

I have sat with a deck of cards for hours on end dealing myself and my imaginary five friends hands and my average is ONE suited hand dealt to my position in every 12 hands. So how can ipoker deal me two every 3 hands yet I may hit a flush every blue moon, and then to my shock horror my King Queen suited hand gets beat by Ace 2,Ace 4 etc.

I came 3rd about five days ago and won £2.50 (Get the sun cream ready) so went to the micro tables to make my millions. 10c double up four players start with 800 chips so it's a bit aggressive. It's really quite unreal at the percentage rate of "action hands" obviously I'm not posting all the weird things that I have seen, but this hand is just the sort of thing that happens every 2-3 hands.

The chances of this happening must surely be one in millions to happen yet it's seen every 5 minutes of play.

One player already gone i am on big blind 9h4d small blind has called with amazingly 94 spades(What are the odds of that for a start? Now for what happens next!

I refuse to believe that the cards dealt are randomsmile Two poop hands both straights but he has a flush.

I have my conspiracy theory... If you have done your homework like me you should be sitting at the table with every players stats available. So if we have them guess who has a way more advanced version(Oh yeah the poker sites themselves) So the hands are dealt and the action cards dealt to the win/loss ratios of the players. I had won 8/10 of the 10c double up's so I entered the 20c double up

My 1st hand was me sitting on BB with Q's and i got rivered 2prs..

My 2nd game i'm dealt 1st hand 10-2d i folded and 5 clubs proceeded went to a draw both players were holding spades.2nd hand i'm dealt AKh on sb and got raised from the button so i hit all in. Big blind follows and so does button. Big blind 6's button KJs... Flop QK10 no hearts for me no spades for him. Turn is 8h and river a 6(Hows that for an action hand)

3rd game not on tilt i'm dealt 10's on the button and raise 300 chips big blind hits all in and i call.

He has QJd so he has the right,it is very quick and aggressive small tournament flop 910A(Nice action yet again) turn is another 9 and river King.. Three tournaments three rivers!! So after wining a bit it's taken from me.. They have your stats.

Long post but if you are into poker you may find it interesting.

And these images are the very next 10c double up game(I won by the way) but just to show again the frequency of my combined suited hands. Almost all of my games over 5 years is the same, yet i hardly ever hit a flush. confused

1st hand i'm dealt 10's and win the hand over 7's

Then comes 4 in a row suited hands 10-3d 7-4c Q-7c 2-7s

So four in a row the very next game after my last post, just proving my point i get 4/7 smile . As said I have dealt hours on end of imaginary hands and to my memory can not recall dealing myself two in a row... FOUR? Eight(I kid you not) in a row i would think is mathematically impossible... But not according to i.poker.

A mate of mine is playing in this http://poker.boylepoker.com/ipolive/

Top three now, can't really play the game well myself, wish we could see the cards, stands to win 70K Euro if it works out.

From 1656 starters to the top 3 has got to be more than luck, I'm dreading the next six months along side him in the van if he wins this!

Yeah, sorry, I was a bit late making the post.

He won it!

What a delight, seriously this guy (looks a bit like James Wade) works harder at everything than anyone else I've ever met.

The other night I was helping him fit CCTV in the most dirty and run down warehouse I've ever been in, he's a bloke with a white van, and when he's stuck for a bit of help I go out and join in. (He tells me I'm the only one he can get that can put up with him on a job!)

I'm over the moon about this win, he just called me asking what we are going to do about video streaming, had to tell him to fk off and enjoy the win!

I'm utterly delighted for him!

ETA, just go another call from him, he won with Q7, balls or luck?

I've just changed cars, so my poker habit has taken a back seat. However, I'll be trying to play the $55 Red Spade Open on PS on Sunday. Great value - $150k+ for first.

well it's +EV to push with Q7 as long as you or your opponent have less than 20 BBs

I play regular "False Finance" games and am contemplating getting some real money on the table.

I am prepared for the change of atmosphere on my behalf, after all the difference will be personal!!!

In comparison to many I am a complete novice but am willing to learn.

Should my progress be good I will report accordingly, should it be bad then I may well be found under a large rock in a lonely place. laugh

Have only just come across this thread.

Have been playing on line for about 3 years now.. Only taking it really seriously within the last 18 or so months. My overall game is okay at best frown

I spend most of my time playing low stakes (0.01/0.02) 9 man cash games. I occasionally jump into some med/large MMTs with my biggest win being around 700$. I only really play on P'Stars although I have tried playing on other poker sites.

Over the weekend just gone I spent around 8 hours (not all in one session) playing low stakes cash games on 12 tables -

In that time I playing a little over 1000 hands per hour. As you can imagine I'm now feeling shattered. Had planned to play the sunday million but I just didnt have the energy.

Do any of you use Holdem Manager? Thinking about investing in this. I put together a decent spreadsheet last year but can be bothered to keep manually updating it. The only other poker tool I use is Tournament Indicator.
