Tony Hadley sometimes visits the farm where I work as one of the other business here is doing up his house nearby.

I was in the same class in primary school as Scott Copeland who is the son of Stewart Copeland the drummer in The Police.

Whilst in the audience of Top Gear some time ago the Star in the reasonably priced car" was introduced.

Christian Slater walked through our section of the crowd to massive applause and would have stood on my foot had I not moved it away.

Tenuous you said? laugh

Not sure if I've mentioned this here before but "Big Phil" Scolari [sp] got worried as he thought I was trying

to run him over......3 times.

One of many recent failed Chelsea FC managers BTW for non footballists.

He's a mate's uncle. Dined and beers with him a number of times, though not for a few years so no chance to ask any Yewtree questions!!

Another tenuous link to John Craven: I used to live in Cookham, but that was over 30 years ago.

Some may consider it a little sad but it really rattles my cage that you have written john craven instead of John Craven. Just to be a totally pedantic b'stard I am 100% sure that the BBC programme you refer to is called Countryfile, one word.

Years ago I was sent down to London to help my company set up the ticket desk for a new airport contract in London, train staff etc. I'm tapping away at a PC when I hear a vaguely familiar voice and one of the newstarts, who happened to be a black Londoner, asking for ID. I look up and it's Alex Salmond. This was the third time I'd met him and he had the same lackey as before, so I change his flight and explain to newstart that he's a valued regular flyer, smiley smiley etc, blah blah.

When he'd left she asked me who he was and I told her he was the leader of the SNP. Her face was a picture- she thought the SNP meant the northern branch of the BNP. hehe

Michael Portillo also asked me to change his flight once. Polite guy but seemed a bit reptilian to me in person.

I once saw the back of Natalie Imbruglia as she checked in for a flight during Live 8.

And away from the airport I once serviced a watch which TS Eliot gave to his wife, which is about as close to literary greatness as I've ever come. hehe

Ooh, another airport one- I was at a boarding gate where John Clelland was boarding a flight. I gave him a nod which he ignored... I guess in hindsight I should have chased him down the jetty and shook his hand until it became awkward. biggrin

I beat him once.

Not actual physical violence, but went past him in a game of football.
The chant at CG was always "you'll never beat Des Walker"

Exactly 30 years ago I visited Sol Studio in Cookham. I recall being astonished at the cost of property there. smile

I work with one of Winston Churchill's grandsons who affectionately calls me "buddy". This is not due to being close to him, rather he doesn't have a clue what my name is. Seems a nice enough bloke though smile

Nope, and my apologies it's a great-grandson (another generation younger).

If I look out of one of the upstairs windows I can see the house that Kerry Katona rented for a while. It was on Through the Keyhole and is massively tasteless, both the house and Katona.

I used to work with Natasha Hamiltons cousin. His surname was also Hamilton, and he had a son called Lewis (not THAT Lewis)
