The thread in which PHers reveal tenuous links to famous people.

How about a tenuous link to a famous house?
Fred & Rose West did a lot of their murdery stuff in the cellar of 25 Cromwell St which has now been flattened. A tv company did a programme a couple of years ago about Fred & Rose, and the bits where they recreated what happened in the cellar was filmed in a house where I was working this week - about 200 miles away from Gloucester. It wasn't particularly spooky but was in fact a very nice house.

My old man worked with Terry Parsons, aka Matt Monro, on the London Buses.
Real generous bloke who never forgot his friends, the amount of Suits he gave my Father was testament to that fact.

My best mate made a cup of tea for John Cleese when he was filming Clockwise. One location is the grounds of a disused hospital that backed onto my mate's garden. My mate saw JC strolling about in the grounds and said hello over the fence, then offered to make a cuppa. JC chatted about the making of the film and the joys of Grimsby(!), drank his tea, thanked my pal and strolled off to do some more filming.
I visited the monastery, also in the film, to chat about installing a sound system for the owners, Gabrielle Drake and her hubby. She's the sister of Nick Drake and appeared in Crossroads , UFO and a few other programmes.Must admit, have become very fond of his music.

I went to school with the kids of Eddie Gray (legendary Leeds United Footballer).... in primary school, he was the then Manager of Leeds (i think they had just been relegated to the old Division 2). Anyway, I was a goalie, and he used to come and watch every one of our matches and he would stand behind my goal shouting encouragement etc... Bit like having Mourinho or Wenger today at your school footie matches.
I worked in a hotel and once served Frankie Howerd his lunch/drinks.... he ploughed through 4 x Double Bl**dy Mary's in about 30 mins.
My ex-girlfriend (22+ Years ago) was best mates briefly with a minor Neighbours actress (not Natalie Imbruglia unfortunately!) when she was in the UK for a few years.
My mother used to run an Early Music Festival and once got called up by Meatloaf's manager to ask about booking some 4 piece band.... she had no idea who he was...and politely told him to look elsewhere...
One of my best mates does a bit of work for Nick Mason, the Pink Floyd drummer... on our last trip to Ibiza, we pulled up to some beachside restaurant/bar... and then had lunch sat next to Judas Priest Guitar twiddler Glenn Tipton. (Whom he also knows/goes drinking with his kids etc) And on the same trip, whilst walking to the showers in the marina, Niki Lauda was just getting off a mahoosive Gin Palace.. we said hello... he just looked at us like we were knackers and didn't even say hi back... miserable git.

I was passenger in a car that came very close to running him over once when he was walking his dog down one of the narrow lanes by his village. We were in a 2CV so I think we would have come of worse. When working as a magazine freelancer I was commissioned by Robin Colvill to do the pics for the Grumbleweeds' summer tour brochure.
This led to my being asked to do the same for...
...wait for it....
...The Krankies!
Admit it, you're jealous.
Ah, the big time.

One of my kids was in the same class as one of the Speakmans kids ( http://www.speakman.tv/ ). Eva was ok but Nick was a bit strange. They always wore the same clothes.
