Pretty tenuous, but I went to school with the late Graeme Kelling, guitarist with Deacon Blue.

I know Dennis very well, we are members at the same golf club and had many beers together.
Dennis is a great bloke and a real mens men if you know what I mean.

Also use to play with Warren Clarke (RIP) Sir Clive Woodward and Sir Terry Wogan (RIP).
I've never played golf, but if I took it up, it probably would be with you. I hope Clive is watching his back.

The best man at my wedding (I was also best man at his) rear ended Dr Miriam Stoppard's 928 on the A4 in Brentford, around the same time I would imagine

I will skip this round. It sounds like "Cloggy" is the grim reaper.

Top U.K. Boxing bloke David Haye, both his parents in law worked for me.
And he lived in a newly built house in the same road in SE London as my father in law. Not there now. I was surprised that he bought the house to be honest as I would have expected something worth a million or two more tbh.

Next time you see Dennis Cloggy, would you ask him if he remembers Susie Hassell from his drama school days? (My late Mum). wink

the actor Geoff Hughes (Eddie Yates out of Corrie) was a customer of mine in The Gunshop I run - he used to come in and stand behind the counter for a chat. One day when I got a bit busy he started to serve an old boy who wanted a tin of airgun pellets. After the chap had paid for them he turned round and said ' did you know you look like a bloke off the telly - not seen you in here before are you new ?'

Explains why I sat next to him on the IOW ferry a few years back.

My mums full title was Lady Glencorme of Caithness .
(A birthday present as a joke for her as dad always called her Duchess)
The certificate looked good next to the old mans Royal Warrant. He was a RAF Warrant officer.

One of my songs was played on BBC Scotland. The following track? Bob Dylan 'Lay lady lay'. Closest I will ever get.

I was at Hillsborough with Paul Nuttall, the new UKIP leader.

I don't talk about it really as he asked me to keep it quiet.

Thread in GG reminded me I was in college with a nephew of the Sultan of Brunei, he was one of many nephews a few of which were in Cardiff studying a few in uni and one in college with me. He was a little older 20ish I was 16\17. Took a while to get to know him, things normal to him he didn't think to mention would amaze us when we got it out of him like at the age of 20 he was married owned a couple of houses and a few cars a 4x4 and a nice new Mercedes, here he was in a shared house with other family members so it didn't come up in conversation for ages.

Made me laugh when after a term holiday he told me on the way back from Brunei he got stopped with 20k cigarettes. I asked him did he have think he would actually get away with 20k cigarettes to which he said he didn't know they stopped people, he normally travels on a private jet with other family members and has never been stopped but as he was the only returning one he had to use the public plane's for the first time hehe
